Alice Bia

SAWMILL, Ariz. — Services for Alice Bia, 81, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2011, at Rollie Mortuary. Burial will be in Kindanlichii, Ariz.
Bia died Oct. 7, 2011, in Nazlini, Ariz.. She was born May, 30, 1930, in Nazlini.

Bia was an amazing mother, grandmother, auntie and friend.

Survivors include her sons Leonard Tsosie and Donald Tsosie; daughters Bernadine Tsosie, Deloras Tsosie-Jones, Charlene Smith and Lula Smith; sister Irene Meyers; 17 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Benson Smith.

Pallbearers will be LaTroy Tsosie, Otto Damon, Keith Tsosie, Francisco Jesus, Shawn Gordy and Cisco Jesus Jr.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Robert Choyou Sr.

POLACCA — A traditional wake for Robert Choyou Sr., 65, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, in Polacca, Ariz. Rowena Choyou will officiate. Visitation will be at Rowena Choyou’s residence.

Choyou died Oct. 7, 2011, in Gallup. He was born in Polacca, Ariz, into the Fire People Clan born for the Sand People Clan.

Choyou graduated in Phoenix and attended college in Phoenix. He retired from Wingate High School.

Survivors include his wife Alice Choyou, of Gallup; sons Robert Choyou Jr., of Phoenix, and Calvin Livingston, of Gallup; daughters Gleenen Choyou, of Polacca, and Marilyn Johnson, of Phoenix; brothers Ralph Choyou, of Keams Canyon, Ariz., Edwin Choyou Jr. and Tyson Namonki, of Polacca; sister Rowena Choyou, of Polacca; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Madge Namonki and Edwin Choyou and daughter Stephanie Choyou.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 1-5 p.m. at Rowena Choyou’s residence in Polacca, Ariz.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.

Esther Douglas

TSEYATOH — Services for Esther Kinsel Douglas, 74, will be announced at later date.
Douglas died Oct. 9, 2011, in Albuquerque. She was born Feb. 15, 1937, in Tseyatoh into the Black Streak of Forest People Clan born for the Towering House Clan.

A gathering for friends and relatives will be at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Tseyatoh Chapter House.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Carmen Nez

TOHATCHI — Services for Carmen Dennison Nez, 72, will be announced at a later date.

Nez died Oct. 10, 2011, in Gallup. She was born May 23, 1939, in Tohatchi.

A Donation meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at the Tohatchi Chapter House.

Cristobal Santillanes

GALLUP — Services for Cristobal Santillanes, 72, will be announced at a later date.

Santillanes died Oct. 8, 2011, in Albuquerque. He was born July 25, 1939, in Gallup.
