Tony A. Becenti Jr.

MUHOLLAND WELLS — Services for Tony Arviso Becenti Jr., 43, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Rehoboth Christian Reform Church. The Rev. Alvin Tso and the Rev. Jimmie Etcitty will officiate. Burial will be at Rehoboth Cemetery.

Becenti died Oct. 19, 2011, in Crownpoint. He was born May 6, 1968, in Crownpoint into the Black Streak of Forest People Clan for the Water Flows Together People Clan.

Becenti worked for the Navajo Police Department for 17 years. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and ranching.

Survivors include his daughters Shelby Lynn Becenti and Shealynn Marie Becenti; parents Tonie A. and Lucy K. Becenti; brother Herbert A. Becenti; and sisters Matilda B. Smith, Geneva Murphy, Tonilee Becenti, Arthurene Becenti, Stephanie Jeff and Ernestine Alston. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Juanita and Juanito Platero and Christine A. and Herbert Becenti.

Pallbearers will be Sgt. Tommy Rogers, Sgt. Julian Henry, Daniel Kalleco, Spc. Kevin Jeff, Byron Murphy and Herbert T. Becenti.

Donations may be made to Tony A. Becenti Memorial Fund, First Financial Credit Union.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Jacky Joe

MENTMORE — Services for Jacky Joe, 64, will be announced at a later date.

Joe died Oct. 21, 2011, in Gallup. He was born Dec. 30, 1946, in Querino Canyon, Ariz., into the One Who Walks Around People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

A gathering for family and friends will be at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct 22, at the Houck Chapter House and at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, at the Manuelito Chapter House.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Julia Peshlakai

SHIPROCK — Funeral services for Julia Nez Peshlakai, 75, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at Bethel Christian Reformed Church. Rondale Anderson will officiate. Burial will be at Shiprock Cemetery.

Peshlakai died Oct. 18, 2011, in Shiprock. She was born Nov. 16, 1935, in Hogback into the Mud People Clan and Two Water Flow Together People Clan.

Peshlakai was well known for her Yei Bii Chei rugs that she wove to support her family. She enjoyed watching her son pitch in fast-pitch tournaments and shopping with her daughter. She enjoyed the company of her family, relatives and friends.

Survivors include her son Tomas “Mush” Peshlakai; daughter Rose Anna Peshlakai; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents Shorty and Minnie Nez; son Anderson; daughters Jean, Lorraine and Cecelia; sisters Mary Benally, Mary Joe and Alice Jackson and brothers Mark Dan, Tom Johnson, Tom Mark and Nelson Nez.
Pallbearers will be Alfonso Uentillie, Ernest Allen, Darrell Allen, Derrick Allen, Steven John and James Standing Soldier.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in the Fellowship Hall.
