Eugene McArthur
SAWMILL Funeral services for Eugene McArthur, 46, will
be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament
in Fort Defiance. Father Gilbert Schneider, OFM, will officiate.
Burial will follow on family land in Sawmill.
Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, April 12, at Our Lady of
the Blessed Sacrament, in Fort Defiance.
McArthur died April 5, in Crystal. He was born March 20, 1961
in Los Angeles into the Start of the Red Streak Clan for the Black
Streak Wood Clan.
McArthur graduated from Window Rock High School in 1980, where
he received various awards in sports. He worked for the Office
of Environmental Health and Engineering, NECA, NTUA, NHA and many
housing projects. He was employed as a utility foreman with NAHASDA
at the time of his death. McArthur enjoyed playing the guitar
and collecting music CD's. He also enjoyed barbecues, fishing,
hunting, carpentry, drafting and watching Dallas Cowboys football
games.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte McArthur of Sawmill; daughters,
Eugenia Johnson and Charmayne McArthur, both of Tucson, Charilyn
McArthur of Tempe, Gerilyn McArthur, Genelle McArthur, Jourdann
McArthur, and Charly McArthur, all of Sawmill; mother, Susie McArthur
of Fort Defiance; brother, Vernon McArthur Sr. of Sawmill; sisters,
Lavern McArthur and Geraldine McArthur, both of Fort Defiance,
and Conarita Billie of Silver City; grandmother, Nellie Yazzie
of Cowsprings; three grandchildren.
McArthur was preceded in death by Kenneth McArthur, Helen Blackgoat,
Frank Blackgoat, and Eugene Jewleryman.
Pallbearers will be Byron McArthur, Tyrone McArthur, Lionel Wauneka,
Adelbert Johnson, Derrick Tallwood, and Jethro Brown.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Fort Defiance
Chapter House following services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Cyrus Yazzie
COUSINS Funeral services for Cyrus B. Yazzie, 24, will
be announced at a later date.
Yazzie died April 6, in Albuquerque. He was born February 24,
1983, in Gallup into the Meadow Clan for the Blacksheep Clan.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
