Douglas Williams, Jr.
FORT DEFIANCE Memorial services for Douglas
Williams, Jr., 49, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 21, at Fort
Defiance Presbyterian Church. Rev. Roger Davis, Jr. will officiate.
Williams graduated from high school and SIPI in Albuquerque. He
also graduated from Central Arizona Community & Mesa Community
Colleges in Phoenix with an associate degree. He held jobs in
the field of carpentry in of Fort Defiance/Window Rock and Gallup.
Survivors include his father, Douglas Williams, Sr.; mother, Laurita
Jones; brother, Carlton Williams; sister, Dorothea Williams.
Williams was preceded in death by his sister, Carla Williams.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Manuela McKinley
GALLUP Funeral Mass for Manuela Suarez
McKinley, 86, will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at St.
Francis Church. Father Lalo, OFM, will officiate. Burial will
follow in Hillcrest Cemetery.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, at Rollie
Mortuary.
McKinley died April 15 in Gallup. She was born June 17, 1920 in
Dawson N.M.
McKinley attended Gallup High School. Her activities included
Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters, Guadalupanas, Blue Army,
and Knights of Columbus Women's Auxilliary. She enjoyed spending
time with family and friends and attending services at St. Francis
Parish.
Survivors include her sons, Guillermo McKinley, Jr. of Gallup;
daughters, Veronica Hill of Albuquerque and Rita Bain of Flagstaff;
Brothers, Juan (Chuy) Carrillo of Gallup; sister, Julia Garcia,
of Gallup; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
McKinley was preceded in death by Guillermo H. McKinley, Sr.
Pllbearers will be John Rodriguez, Charles Bain Jr., Gary William
Hill, Juan (Chuy) Carrillo, John Falcon, Jr., and Mario Banda.
The family will receive relatives and frineds at 2007 Mossman
Ave. in Gallup.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Sarah Romero
GALLUP Funeral Mass for Sarah Romero,
89, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Very Reverend Lawrence J. O'Keefe will officiate. Burial will
follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m., today, April 18, at Rollie
Mortuary. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m., at Sacred Heart
Cathedral.
Romero died April 15, in Gallup. She was born December 31, 1917
in Domingo, N.M.
Romero graduated Valadictorian from Pena Blanca High School. She
was a life long PTO member. Her hobbies included cooking, scrabble,
playing gin rummy, and reading.
Survivors include her husband Eddie Romero; sons, Ernest Romero
and Eddie Romero, Jr. (Eddie Boy): daughters, Lillie, Ermie, Barbara
(Bobbie), Selma, Antoinette, Bernice, Maxine, Rebecca, Marcella,
and Cecilia; sister, Annie Gutierrez; 48 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren;
and 19 great-great grandchildren.
Romero was preceded in death by her son, Arnold Romero; parents,
Luis Dimas and Julia Baca; brothers Fidel Dimas and Prudencio
Dimas; sister, Tillie Ramirez; grandparents, Vidal and Basilia
Dimas, Prudencio and Gabriella Sanchez and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Gabriel Romero, Leonard Salazar, Gino Garcia,
Erik Bentley, Jeremiah Coriz, and Jacob Romero.
Donations may be made in memory to St. Judes Childrens Hospital,
332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.

Darrell Dawes, Sr.
TWIN LAKES Funeral services for Darrell
A. Dawes, 41, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at Cope Memorial
Chapel. Pastor Alvin Cayatineto will officiate. Burial will follow
in Tohatchi Community Cemetery.
Dawes, Sr. died April 16, in Twin Lakes. He was born August 9,
1965 in Gallup into the Waters Edge People Clan for the Zuni People
Clan.
Dawes, Sr. graduated from Tohatchi High school and attended UNM
Branch. He worked for Warfab Industrial in Gilgorde, Tex. and
P&H Mine in Mesa, Ariz. He was an award-winning Native American
artist/silversmith/storyteller. Dawes, Sr. was a high school finalist
in bullriding and horseback riding. He enjoyed Harley Davidson
bike rallies.
Survivors include his wife, Lenora M. Dawes of Rock Springs; sons,
Darryl Dawes Jr., of Rock Springs; daughters, LaNelle Dawes and
Shanelle Dawes both of Rock Springs; parents, Arthur Dawes, Sr.
and Rosemarie Dawes both of Rock Springs; brothers, Arthur Dawes
Jr. of Twin Lakes and Armin Dawes of Albuquerque; sisters, Burldeen
Dawes of Pinon and Geraldine Martin of Pinedale; grandfather,
John Johnson; grandmother, Eleanor Dawes; and one grandchild.
Dawes, Sr. was preceded in death by his brother Gerald Dawes;
Glenabah Johnson, Irene Johnson, Susie Johnson, and Cato Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Armin Dawes, Arthur Dawes Jr., Gerrick Dawes,
Joseph Nez, Darryl Dawes Jr., and Joel Nez.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Twin Lakes Chapter
after services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
John Johnson, Sr.
Albuquerque Funeral Services for John
Johnson, Sr., 85, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 19, at the
Word of Life Church in To'hajiilee. Burial will follow at the
Word of Life Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, April 18 at Salazar
& Sons Mortuary in Albuquerque.
Johnson was a veteran of World War II and the Pastor of Work of
Life Church.
Elaine Armijo
GALLUP Services for Elaine Armijo, 83,
will be announced at a later date. Armijo died April 16, in Gallup.
She was born on February 26, 1924, in St. Louis, Mo.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
