Victor Meese Sr.

GALLUP — Memorial services for Victor J. Meese Sr., 66, will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 20, at St. Francis Church. Father Lalo, OFM, will officiate. Private disposition will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

A rosary will be recited at 2 p.m. Friday, April 20, at St. Francis Church.

Meese died Monday, April 16 in Gallup. He was born December 19, 1940 in Gallup.

Meese enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching CSI.

Survivors include his sons, Victor J. Meese Jr. and Thomas J. Meese, both of Gallup, Santana Sanchez of Gilbert; daughters, Leslie DeArmond and Mercedes Montano, both of Gallup; brothers, Arthur Meese of Farmington and George Meese of Albuquerque; sisters, Helen MacIntosh of Phoenix and Dorothy Barnes of Las Vegas, Nev.; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Meese was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Meese and Filipina Meese; brothers, Charles Meese and Fred Meese; sisters, Alice Meese and Annie Easley.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Lions Club following services.

Edward Moreno

GALLUP — Funeral Rosary and Mass for Edward A. Moreno, 67, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 20, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial will follow with military honors at Gallup City Cemetery.

Viewing will be one hour prior to services.

Moreno died Sunday, April 15, in Gallup. He was born on December 30, 1937 in Gallup.

Survivors include his brother, Gilbert Moreno of Gallup.

Moreno was preceded in death by his parents Alex Moreno and Emma Lucero Moreno.

Pallbearers will be John Goins, Robert Cupp Jr., Chris Downey, Henry Mady, Mike Perez and Odilon B. Garcia.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Charlie Yazzie

JONES RANCH — Funeral services for Charlie C. Yazzie, 94, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 20, at Cope Memorial. Jake Yazzie Jr., will officiate. Burial will follow in Jones Ranch.

Yazzie died Thursday, April 12, in Jones Ranch. He was born July 16, 1912, in Jones Ranch into the Near To Water Clan for Black Streak Clan.

Yazzie was a carpenter and a rancher.

Yazzie is survived by his brother, Joe Yazzie of Lupton.

Yazzie was preceded in death by his parents, James Tseheneh and Asdzani Tso Yazzie; brothers, Monroe Yazzie, Tom Joe, and James Yazzie; sisters, Ella Mae Begay and Mary N. Begay.

Pallbearers will be Bruce Houston, Jeffrey Houston, Julius Begay, Thompson Begay, Micheal Begay and Jonathan Begay.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Frances Houston's residence in Jones Ranch following services.

Joann Bailey

GALLUP — Services for for Joann Evelyn Bailey, 49, will be announced at a later date. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, April 20, at Rollie Mortuary.

Bailey died Tuesday, April 17, in Gallup. She was born August 14, 1957 in Gallup.

James Yeager

GRANTS — Services for James T. Yeager, 68, will be announced at a later date.

Yeager died Tuesday, April 17, in Grants. He was born February 2, 1939.

Emerson Goldtooth Sr.

TSAILE — Services for Emerson Goldtooth, 78, will be announced at a later date.

Goldtooth died Tuesday, April 17, in Ft. Defiance. He was born September 30, 1928 in Greymountain, Ariz.
