Alice Chittum
PLANO, Texas A memorial service for Alice
K. Chittum, 67, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at St.
John the Evangelist Misson in Houck, Ariz. Father Cormack will
officiate. Burial will be at the Houck Community Cemetery.
Chittum died April 9, in Plano, Texas. She was born August 10,
1939 in Houck into the One Who Walks Around Clan for Black Sheep
Clan.
Chittum enjoyed traveling and visiting her relatives.
Survivors include her sons, Virgil Nez of Los Gatos, Calif. and
Charles Chittum of Denver, Colo.; daughter, Gina MacDougall of
Dallas, Texas; brother, Ernest Smith of Lupton; six grandchildren.
Chittum was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Chittum
Sr.; parents, Ida Lee Yazzie and Kee John; brother, David Smith;
sisters, Bessie Jose and Betty Chischilly; and grandmother, Yenilthdbah
James.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Houck Chapter
House following services.
Jessie Roanhorse
CHINLE Funeral services for Jessie Roanhorse,
86, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 23, at the Presbyterian Church
in Chinle. Burial will be in the Del Muerto Community Cemetery.
Roanhorse died April 17, in Payson, Ariz. She was born October
15, 1920 in Chinle into the Coyote Pass Clan for the One Who Walks
Around Clan.
Roanhorse was a homemaker, rancher, and rug weaver. She enjoyed
quilting.
Survivors include her sons, Frank Roanhorse, Robert Roanhorse,
Hoskie Roanhorse, John Roanhorse, and Francis Roanhorse; daughters,
Dorothy Roanhorse, Darlene Roanhorse, and Bessie Roanhorse; brother,
Guy Yazzie Teller; sister, Zonnie Clark; 22 grandchildren; 37
great grandchildren.
Roanhorse was preceded in death by her parents, Ford and Ahenabah
Teller; brothers, Ford Teller, Kee Teller, Kee B. Teller, Willie
Teller, Peter Teller, Eddie Teller, Guy Tso and Sam Billy.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Roanhorse, Delbert Roanhorse, Techumseh
S. Curley, Delford Roanhorse, Jackson Clark and Elmerson L. Woody.
Tse Bonito is in charge of arrangements.
