Johnny Diaz

GALLUP — Funeral services and rosary for Johnny B. Diaz, 56, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Gallup. Father O'Keefe will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.

Visitation will be at 5 to 7 p.m. today, at Cope Memorial Chapel.

Diaz died April 21, in Flagstaff. He was born Nov. 29, 1950 in Gallup.

Diaz attended Gallup High School and earned a diploma in cosmotology. He enjoyed attending church . His hobbies were dancing, music, socializing with family and friends, and taking his mother to the casino.

Survivors include his mother, Helen C. Diaz; brothers, Benny J. Diaz, Anthony A. Diaz, Lino M. Diaz, Joseph A. Diaz, and Christopher M. Diaz; sister, Regina D. Estorga.

Diaz was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Diaz; and grandparents, Luis S. Diaz and Cruz C. Diaz.

Pallbearers will be Benny J. Diaz, Anthony A. Diaz, Sr., Lino M. Diaz, Sr., Joseph A. Diaz, Chris Diaz, Anthony Diaz, Jr., Rudy Romero, Jr., and Jacob Cisneros.

The family will receive relatives and friends at KC Hall following the services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Merle Moore

THOREAU — Funeral services for Merle Wayne Moore, 74, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Thoreau. Burial will follow in Fort Sumner, NM.

Moore died April 24, in Albuquerque. He was born Nov. 4, 1932 in Wichita Falls.

Moore was a well-known trading post operator. He was involved for many years in high school rodeo and was a past president of the National High School Rodeo Association. He also was involved in the Gallup Lions Club Rodeo and was a lifetime member of the Gallup Lions Club, VFW 1313.

Survivors include his wife, Rosella Moore of Thoreau; sons Billy Moore of Thoreau, Bobby Moore of Prewitt, and Darrell Moore of Puyallup, Wash.; daughter, Diane Mayberry of Thoreau; sister Kay Moore of Thoreau; 12 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.

Moore was preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Josie Moore; brothers, Blackie Moore and Roger Moore; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Garry Moore, Bucky Moore, Douglas Moore, Dwayne Moore, Kurt Warren, and Kacie Mayberry.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Ramone Willie

SMITH LAKE — Funeral services for Ramone Willie, 19, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 27, at Thoreau Baptist Church. Reverend Bobby J. Willie will officiate. Burial will follow at Smith Lake Cemetery.

Willie died April 22, in Dalton Pass, NM. He was born April 21, 1988, in Gallup in to the Towering House People Clan for the Red Running into the Water People Clan.

Willie was attending Thoreau High School. His hobbies were playing the guitar, skateboarding, writing poetry, hunting, and outdoor activities.

Survivors include his parents, Sammie and Barnette Willie; brother, Jeremy J. Willie; sisters, Samantha Willie, Latisha R. Willie, and Shanell B. Willie; grandparents, Bobby J. and Bonnie Willie.

Willie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ben and Mayme Willie; great-grandfather, Jim Ramone.

Pallbearers will be Bryant Willie, Jeremiah Ramone, Samantha Willie, Bob Willie, Drew Shorty, and Kevin Ramone.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Alan Zecca

PHOENIX — Services for Alan Zecca, 42, will be announced at a later date.

Zecca died April 24, in Phoenix. He was born January 2, 1965, in Kansas City, Mo.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday, April 27, at Sacred Heart Cathedral.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
