Marilyn Nez

ST. MICHAELS — Funerla services for Marilyn Nez, 40, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 2 at Mary Mother of Mankind Catholic Church in St. Michaels. Father Ron Walters will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Michaels Community Cemetery.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to services. A rosary will be at 4 p.m. today, Aug. 1 at Mary Mother of Mankind Catholic Church in St. Michaels.

Nez died July 27, 2007 in Phoenix. She was born July 25, 1967 in Fort Defiance into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Red House People Clan.

Nez graduated from St. Michaels High School in 1986. She was self-employed. Nez enjoyed playing basketball, volleyball, and listening to music.

Survivors include her daughter, Alexandra Renay Chester; parents, Tom and Mary Nez; brothers, Frank Benally, Sr., Thomas Nez, Michael Nez, and Marvin Nez; sister, Gloria Begay.

Nez was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jack and Alice John, Nakai and Hasbah Snez; brother, Morgan Nez; and sister, Lucy Nez.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Nez, Michael Nez, Marvin Nez, Johnson Bordy, Franklin Benally, Frank Benally, Jr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Window Rock Church of God (across from the Sports Center) following the services.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Howard Miller

MILAN — Funeral services for Howard Daniel Miller, 65, will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug, 2 at Grace Baptist Church in Milan. Pastor Dale Thatcher will officiate. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park with full military honors.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today, Aug. 1 at Grace Baptist Church.

Miller died July 29, 2007 in Milan. He was born Feb. 28. 1942 in Ringtown, Penn.

Miller was owner of Miller Supply and High Country Sales in Milan. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. Miller was a Veteran of the U.S. Air Force and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Marguerite Miller of Milan; sons, David Miller of Bluewater and Curtis Miller of Hondo, N.M. daughter, Dona King of Lubbock, Texas; sister, Johann Moyer of Ringtown, Penn.; and nine grandchildren.

Miller was preceded in death by his parents, Harry K. Miller and Beatrice S. Miller.

Pallbearers will be Kevin James, Joshua Miller, John Kilgore, Tom Lambson, Daniel Sanders, and Ryan Thatcher.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christian Alliance Outfitters at Kent Creek Hunting and Summer Canps for Disabled Children, 5837 Woodridge Oaks, San Antonio, Texas 78249.
