Anna Holyan

COYOTE CANYON -- Funeral services for Anna M. Holyan, 81, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3 at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church. Pastor Edgar Yazzie and Reverend Gordon Stuit will officiate. Burial will follow at Rehoboth Mission Cemetery.

Holyan died July 30, 2007 in Coyote Canyon. She was born Dec. 21, 1925 in Toyei Spring, N.M. into the Zuni People Clan for the Hanging Rock People Clan.

Holyan attended Toadlena Boarding School for four years. She worked at the Standing Rock Trading Post for “The Burnhams” and at Standing Rock BIA School as a cook for 36 years. Her hobbies included ranching, rug weaving, and sewing. She enjoyed cooking and attending church.

Survivors include her sons, Ed Holyan of Tucson, Ariz., Roy Holyan of Coyote Canyon, and Raymond Holyan, Jr. of Fort Defiance; daughters, Betty Holyan of Coyote Canyon and JoAnn Holyan-Terry of Crownpoint; and sister, Bernice Hampton of Gallup.

Holyan was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Holyan, Sr.; sons, Arbert Holyan and David Holyan; parents, Joe Capitan, Sr. and Nalebah Capitan; brothers, Ben Capitan, Wilmer Capitan, and Joe Capitan, Jr.; sisters, Rose Hudson, Rhoda James, Hadesbah Morgan, and Violet Tso; and one granddaughter.

Pallbearers will be Michael Holyan, Tye Holyan, Alvin Holyan, Everett Tso, Jason James, and Art Capitan.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

 

Jim Valentino, Jr.

GALLUP -- Funeral services for Jim Valentino, Jr., 31, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 3 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Pastor Eddie Rodriguez will officiate. Burial will follow at the family plot in Coyote Canyon.

Valentino, Jr. died July 28, 2007 in Gallup. He was born June 22, 1976 in Gallup into the Salt People Clan.

Valentino, Jr. attended Twin Lakes Elementary, Chuska Boarding School, and Tohatchi High School. He also attended TVI in Albuquerque for his nursing degree.

Survivors include his father, Jim Paul Valentino, Sr. of Coyote Canyon; brothers, Harris Begay, Benson Begay both of Coyote Canyon, and Darryl Paul of Bull Canyon; sisters, Jennifer Paiaina of Tucson, Wilda Begay of Coyote Canyon, Marcie Smith of Gallup, and Eunice Paul of Mexican Springs.

Valentino, Jr. was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Valentino; and his grandparents.
Pallbearers will be Harris Begay, Cordell R. Begay, Benson Begay, Darryl Paul, Moses Paiaina, and Derrick Badonie.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Wilda Begay’s residence.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

 

Michael Gebhart, II

ALBUQUERQUE -- Memorial services for Michael Wayne Gebhart, II, 42, were at Riverside Mortuary in Albuquerque. Private disposition was at the Santa Fe Veterans Cemetery.

Gebhart died Aug. 19, 2007 in Albuquerque. He was born July 30, 1964 in Dayton, Ohio.
Survivors include his son Michael W. Gebhart III; daughters Desiree Gebhart of Calif., Renee Gebhart of Albuquerque; parents Michael Gebhart I of Ohio and Yvonne Shuck of Gallup; sisters, Norma Musser of Calif., Yvette Haber of Ohio.

Gebhart graduated from Gallup High School. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a loyal Cincinnati Reds fan.

 

Louise Neswood

IYANBITO -- Funeral services for Louise S. Neswood, 71, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 3 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Pastor Francis Shirley will officiate. Burial will follow at Gallup City Cemetery.

Neswood died July 30, 2007 in Gallup. She was born March 15, 1936 in Iyanbito into the Waters Edge People Clan for the One Who Walks Around Clan.

Neswood attended Sherman Institute in Riverside, Calif. She was a homemaker and a rug weaver. Her hobbies included weaving, watching game shows, and spending time with family.

Survivors included her sons, Fred Neswood, Jr., Kenneth Neswood, and Leo Neswood; daughter, Lucinda Neswood; brothers, Lorenzo Marianito, Leonard Marianito, Charlie Marianito; sisters, Julia Upshaw, Lucie Marianito, Jalucie Marianito, Judy Marianito, Laverta Marianito, and Florence Marianito; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Neswood was preceded in death by Fred Neswood, Sr.; parents, Charles Marianito, Sr. and Laverne Marianito.

Pallbearers will be Jerald Marianito, Eric Jameson, Kevin Billsie, Daniel Larry, Vernon Nelson, and Dean Tsosie.

The family will receive family and friends at Iyanbito Chapter House following the services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

 

Martin Davis

CHURCH ROCK -- Services for Martin Davis, 40, will be announced at a later date.

Davis died July 30, 2007 in Churchrock. He was born November 16, 1966 in Gallup into the Start of the Red Streak People Clan for the Meadow People Clan.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
