Richard Rainey

GAMERCO — Memorial services for Richard Dane Rainey, 66, will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at the All Nations Church in Gallup. Pastor Gladstone Phillips will officiate. Private disposition will be in Silver Hill Cemetery in Texas at a later date.

Rainey died Aug. 6, 2007 in Gamerco. He was born November 6, 1940 in Fort Worth, Texas.
Rainey retired from his self-employed sales business.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Rainey of Gallup; son, Warren Williamson of Arlington, Texas; daughters, Tracy Duncan of Fort Worth, Texas and Christian Rainey of Bonney Lake, Wash.; brothers, Ronnie Rainey of Skowegan, Neb. and Russell Rainey of Poway, Calif.; sister, Renelle Rainey of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Rainey was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Neora Rainey.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Juanita Hunter

CHINLE — Funeral services for Juanita Hunter, 87, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Chinle. Father Ken Roy, OFM will officiate. Burial will follow on family plot in Chinle.

Viewing will be one hour prior to services.

Hunter died Aug. 6, 2007. She was born April 10, 1920 into the Zuni division of the Red Running into the Water People Clan for the Tangle People Clan.

Hunter was a rug weaver, sheepherder, homemaker, traditional herbalist, and migrant worker.

Survivors include her sons, Joe Hunter, Jr. of Chinle; daughters, Nellie Smith of Window Rock, Alice Ben of Fort Defiance, Julia Hunter of Chinle, Dorothy Keiser of Chinle, and Delores Hunter of Chinle.

Hunter was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Hunter, Sr.; son, Albert Hunter; daughter, Mary Hunter; parents, Tahneszahii’ and Yinilbah Anagal; sisters, Inez Bia and Irene Rita Carr; brothers, Paul Anagal, Emerson Anagal, Billy Anagal, Keith Anagal, and Kee Teller.

Pallbearers will be T.J. Hunter, Wilmer Jean, Stanley Ben, Seth Keiser, Levi Harlow, and Peter Young.

A reception will be at Chinle Catholic Hall following services.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Richard Waters

GALLUP — Funeral services for Richard Vernon Waters, 73, will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Sister Terry Goodin will officiate. Burial will follow at Monte Vista Cemetery in Monte Vista, Colo.

Waters died Aug. 6, 2007 in Gallup. He was born September 19, 1933 in Monte Vista.

Waters attended high school and Kemper Military School. He was employed with WWC Construction, Skouson Construction, Jones Construction, and Nielsons-Segriest, Inc. He received an outstanding employee from Nielsons-Segriest. He was in the U.S. Army for two years.

Survivors include his sons, Michael Waters and David Waters; daughters, Vicki Hager, Kim Giesler, and Lori Osborn; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Waters was preceded in death by his son, Richard Waters; and his parents, Harold Waters and Lois Zimmerman Waters.

Pallbearers will be Sam Hager, Dennis Giesler, Steve Osborn, Joshua Osborn, Brendon Osborn, and Parker Brownel.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.


Mary Billey James

STANDING ROCK — Services for Mary Billey James, 96, will be announced at a later date.

James died Aug. 8, 2007 in Crownpoint. She was born January 13, 1911 in Pinedale into the Meadow People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
