Juanita Perez

GALLUP — Funeral services for Juanita C. Perez, 86, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17 at St. Francis Church. Fr. Eduardo “Lalo” Espinosa Chacon will officiate. Burial will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery.

A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today, Aug. 16 at Rollie Mortuary.

Perez died Aug. 12, 2007 in Gallup. She was born June 24, 1921 in Gallup.

Perez was a housewife and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include her sons, Richard Perez of Gallup; daughters, Carol Beare of Albuquerque and Luz Rainaldi of Gallup; brother, Richard Covazrubias; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Perez was preceded in death by her husband, Trinidad Perez; parents, Luz Marie Rivera and Pete Covazrubias; sisters, Luz Covazrubias and Theresa Rivera.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Ace Rainaldi, Sean Rainaldi, Juan Beare, Nathan Beare, Greg Santiago, and Lloyd Madrid.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Elks Lodge in Gallup.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Laura Dennison

WINDOW ROCK — Funeral services for Laura Kathleen Dennison, 47, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17 at Navajo Bible Church in Fort Defiance. Pastor Dean Baker will officiate. Burial will follow at Fort Defiance Community Cemetery.

Dennison died Aug. 11, 2007 in Flagstaff. She was born October 26, 1959 in Fort Defiance into the Sleeping Rock People Clan for the Red Running into the Water People Clan.

Dennison graduated from Window Rock High School in 1978. She enjoyed creating beadwork which she was well known for her unique designs. Dennison loved to listen to powwow music, classic rock, oldies, and the band Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Survivors include her husband, Ernest Williams; son, Jayson P. Dennison of Window Rock; daughter, Tasha L. Dennison of Phoenix; parents, Nelson Anderson of Fort Defiance and Gladys L. Anderson of Window Rock; brother, Dean M. Anderson, of Window Rock; sister, Valerie T. Harrison of Window Rock.

Dennison was preceded in death by her brothers, Marvin C. Wallace and Stewart N. Anderson; grandparents, Ada and Lewis Cambridge, Elsie and Edward Anderson.

Pallbearers will be Lionel Dawes, Jayson P. Dennison, Melvin Jackson, Sr., Abel Thompson, Ernest Williams, Daniel Yazza.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Navajo Bible Church in Fort Defiance.

Tse Bonito is in charge of arrangements.



William Abeyta

GALLUP — Memorial services for William Joseph Abeyta, 72, will be at 8 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17 at St. Therese of the Little Flower in Albuquerque. Father Ron Carrillo will officiate. Burial will be in the Santa Fe National Park.

Abeyta died Aug. 12, 2007 in Gallup. He was born April 5, 1935 in Santa Fe.

Abeyta did construction work and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Labor Union.

Survivors include his wife, Andrea Talamante; sons, William Abeyta, Jr. of Las Vegas, Alex Abeyta of Albuquerque, David Abeyta of Albuquerque, Herman Talamante of Gallup, and Fabian Talamante of Amarillo, Texas; daughters, Frances Villanueva of Thoreau, Christina Escajeda of Gallup, and Antoinette Talamante of Gallup; brother, Robert Ortiz of Albuquerque; sisters, Priscilla Cates of Albuquerque and Barbara Estrada of Albuquerque; 25 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Abeyta was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Abeyta; and daughter, Angela Abeyta.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
