Helen Tahe

TOYEI, Ariz – Services for Helen Tahe, 83, was at 10 a.m., today, Aug. 18 at All Saints Mission in Ganado. Father Flann O’Neil, OFM, will officiate. Visitation was one hour prior to services.

Tahe died Aug. 15 in Ganado. She was born Nov. 15, 2007 in Steamboat, Ariz., into the Honeycombed Rock People Clan for the Black Streaked Forest People Clan.

Tahe worked for Ganado Public Schools as a head cook, and retired after 24 years of service. She was a homemaker at the time of her death.

Survivors include her husband Paul Tahy of Toyei; son Robert Tahe of Gallup; daughter Roslyn Tahy of Steamboat, Ariz.; brothers Wallace Begay and Fred John Begay, both of Steamboat; sisters Kay Tahy of Toyei and Marie T. Begay of Steamboat; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hastéén Ahesi deghni and Helen Mae Begay; brother Frank t. Begay; sister Effie Begay.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Michael Scott

NAVAJO, N.M. – Services for Michael Scott, 28, will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 20, 2007 at Good Shepherd Mission in Fort Defiance. Rev. Richard Red Stevens will officiate. Burial will follow in the community cemetery in Fort Defiance.

Scott died Aug. 15, 2007 in Holbrook, Ariz. He was born Aug. 29, 1978 in Fort Defiance into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Scott was a graduate of Navajo Pine High School. He worked with the Navajo Nation Police Dept., as a correction officer and received awards for his work. His hobbies included playing basketball, football, baseball and collecting Dale Earnhart #3 collection.

Survivors include his wife Andrea Boyd; son Colby Scott; mother Maybelle Scott; brothers Mike Scott, Darrell Shirley, Jarrell Shirley’ sisters Elouise Whitney, Elvera Whitney, Melissa Scott, Patricia Scott; grandparent George Etsitty.

Scott was preceded in death by his father Alfred Shirley, grandmother Alice Scott.

Pallbearers will be family members and coworkers.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Good Shepherd Mission Parish Hall in Fort Defiance.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Frankie Carroll

WHEATFIELDS, Ariz. -- Graveside services for Frankie Carroll, 51, will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 20, 2007 on family land in Wheatfields.

Carroll died Aug. 11, 2007 in Gallup. He was born April 16, 1956 in Wheatfields into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.

He was a lifelong resident of Wheatfields. He worked for NFPI and did carpentry work.

Survivors include his sons Ferdinand T. Carroll of Wheatfields, Faron T. Carroll of Phoenix; daughter Melissa A. Carroll of Navajo, N.M.; father Francis Carroll of Navajo; brothers Roy Carroll, Frank Carroll, Franklin Carroll, Francis Carroll Jr., all of Wheatfields, Earl Carroll of Navajo; sisters Nellie Carroll of Rabbit Brush, N.M., Lillie Yazzie, Kathy Carroll, both of Navajo, Alice John, Gloria Bahe, both of Wheatfields.

Carroll was preceded in death by her mother Alice Carroll; brother Benjamin Carroll and one sister Amelia Carroll.

Pallbearers will be family members.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Francis Carroll Sr.’s residence in Wheatfields.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
