Christopher Johnson

GALLUP — Funeral services for Christopher Charles Johnson, 31, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church. Pastor George Vink will officiate. Burial will follow in Rehoboth.

Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 and 2 to 5 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 both at Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church.

Johnson died Aug. 14, 2007 in Anbar Province, Iraq. He was born Nov. 27, 1975 in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Johnson attended Grandville Christian School in Grandville, Mich., Calvin Christian Mid School in Wyoming, Mich., and Tri-Unity Christian High School in Wyoming, Mich. He served in the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Johnson; sons, Jonathan Johnson and Dylan Johnson; daughters, Victoria Johnson; parents, Charles and Mary Johnson; sisters, Dawn Vink and Laura Jo Evans; grandparents, Bernice Piersma and Marion Johnson.

Pallbearers will be members of the military.

A reception will be at Rehoboth Fellowship Hall following the services.

Donations may be made to Rehoboth Christian Reformed Church.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

 

Alice Benally

TAHCHEE, Ariz. — Funeral services for Alice Benally, 95, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at Black Mountain, Ariz. Peter Burbank will officiate. Burial will be in Black Mountain Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Black Mountain Mission.
Benally died Aug. 22, 2007 in Tachee. She was born June 5, 1912 in Tahchee into the Near the Water People Clan for the Towering House Clan.

Benally was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Neschilly Benally; sons, Jerry Lee Benally of Tahchee, Robert Benally of Wide Ruins, and Herbert Benally of Chinle; daughters, Linda L. Simpson of Kirtland, Carol Clark of Wide Ruins, Mary Ann Benally of Tahchee, Clara Yazzie of Wide Ruins, and Rose Claw of Many Farms; brothers, Horace Burbank of Tohatchi; 41 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Benally was preceded in death by Joe Benally, Nellie Marie Begay.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Mary Ann Benally’s residence, 5 mile N. of Blue Gap Chapter House following the services.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.

 

Romulo Lozano

SAN FIDEL — Graveside services for Romulo Lozano, 87, will be at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 23 at Grants Memorial Park.

A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22 at Compassion Mortuary.

Lozano died Aug. 19, 2007 in San Fidel. He was born July 6, 1920 in Colton,Calif.

Lozano was a World War II veteran serving with the U.S. Army.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Mayfield Lozano of San Fidel; sons, Raymond Lozano of Morenci, Ariz. and John Lozano of San Fidel,; daughters, Maryann Patterson of San Bernadino and Janet Rosse of Cut Off, La.; brother, Adrian Lozano of Bloomington, Calif.; sister, Estella Negrete of San Bernadino; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Lozano was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Lozano and Trinidad Hernadez Lozano; and sister, Consuela Majia.

 

John Tsinijinnie

ROUGH ROCK,Ariz. — Graveside services for John Tsinijinnie, 83, will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25 in Rough Rock. Barney Bush will officiate.

Tsinijinnie died Aug. 20, 2007 in Blanding, Utah. He was born July 17, 1924 in Rough Rock into the One Walks Around People Clan for the Black Streak Wood People Clan.

Tsinijinnie worked for the Union Pacific/South Pacific Railroad. He also was a rancher who hiked a lot. Tsinijinnie enjoyed family visits.

Survivors include Freddie Benally, Henry Benally, Peterson Benally, Randy Woody, Alfred Woody, Amos Chee, Thomas Woods, John Chee, and the Bahe boys; Lynn Barney, Helen Woody, Sarah Begay, Desbah Bahe, Sally Gorman, Mary Yellowhair, Ida B. Begay, and Sadie Nakai; 68 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Tsinijinnie was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and seven sisters.

Pallbearers will be Leslie Barney, Kris Barney, Dallas Begay, Tom Bahe, Lee Bahe, and Antonio Bahe.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Rough Rock Chapter House.

Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
