Irene Gonzales
GALLUP Funeral Mass for Irene Gonzales,
83, were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 at Sacred Heart Cathedral
Church. Father Lawrence OKeefe will officiate. Burial will
follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
Visitation were from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today,
Aug. 24 at Rollie Mortuary. A rosary were recited at 7 p.m. today,
Aug. 24 at Rollie Mortuary.
Gonzales died Aug. 18 in Gallup. She was born
June 11, 1924 in Gallup.
Gonzales retired from Gallup McKinley County
Schools. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of America and
DOES.
Survivors include her sons, Dean Gonzales of
Altus, Okla. and Larry Gonzales of Albuquerque; daughter, Gina
Estrada of Gallup; James Pomponi of Gallup and Anthony Pomponi
of Gallup; sisters, Betty Powell of San Clemente, Calif. and Ann
Kay of Fresno, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Gonzales was preceded in death by her husband,
Chano Gonzales; son, Don Gonzales; parents, Dominic and Margaret
Pomponi; sister, Rose Chappell.
Pallbearers were DJ Gonzales, Robert Stratton,
Michael Bayless, Alfred Griego, Casey Roy, Christopher Saucedo.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Ramsey Martinez
PREWITT Funeral services for Ramsey Martinez,
37, were at 10 a.m.. Saturday, Aug. 25 at Church of Christ in
Thoreau. Mark Newman will officiate. Burial will follow at Thoreau
Community Cemetery.
Martinez died Aug. 20, 2007 in Albuquerque.
He was born June 8, 1970 in Crownpoint into the Meadow People
Clan for the Mescalaro Apache People.
Martinez enjoyed drawing, camping, hunting,
and traveling.
Survivors include his sons, Ramson Martinez,
Andrew Jake, and Antonio Jake all of Thoreau; parents, Roger Martinez
from Pinedale and Anna C. Platero of Prewitt; brothers, Roderick
Martinez of Pinedale, John J. Platero of Pinedale, Tyrone Platero
of Prewitt, and Tyrell Platero of Prewitt; sisters, Loretta Martinez,
Carol Martinez, Jamie J. Platero, and Sonja Platero all of Prewitt.
Martinez was preceded in death by his grandparents,
Frank Martinez and Juanita Martinez; Raymond Calladitto, Helen
Long, Benson Martinez, and Tina Martinez.
Pallbearers were John Platero, Chris Martinez,
Ramson Martinez, Andrew Jake, Antonio Jake, and Glenn Chapo.
Cope Memorial was in charge of arrangements.
Franklin Sandoval, Sr.
FARMINGTON Funeral services for Franklin
Delano Sandoval, Sr., 74, were at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25 at
the Oasis Ministries, 1601 N. Dustin, Farmington. Rev. Raymond
Henry officiated. Burial followed at Green Lawn Cemetery in Farmington.
Visitation was from 4 to 5 p.m., Aug. 24 at
Desert View Funeral Home in Shiprock.
Sandoval, Sr. died Aug. 21, 2007 in Shiprock.
He was born June 27, 1934 in Otis Community into the Many Hogans
People Clan for the Red Bottom People Clan.
Survivors include his wife Victoria Sandoval
of Farmington; sons, Ronald Sandoval of Farmington , Robert Sandoval
of Calif., Daniel Sandoval of Farmington, Maurice Sandoval of
Farmington, and Willard Sandoval of Farmington ; daughter, Katherine
Sandoval of Farmington ; brothers, Sam Sandoval of Shiprock, Merrill
Sandoval Tuba City, and Bert Sandoval of Shiprock; sisters, Mabel
Penn of Farmington, Betsy Sandoval of South Dakota, and Nellie
Zimmerman of Farmington; 25 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Sandoval was preceded in death by his son, Franklin
Sandoval, Jr.; daughter, Debra Kay Sandoval; and parents, Julian
Sandoval and Bessie Sandoval.
