Dollie Segay
NAZLINI, Ariz. Funeral services for Dollie Segay, 92,
were at 10 a.m., Monday, Aug. 27 at All Saints Catholic Church
in Ganado.
Segay died Aug. 23, 2007 in Winslow. She was born Oct. 10, 1914
in Nazlini into the Coyote Pass People Clan for the Red Running
for the Water People Clan.
Survivors include her son, Hoskie Yazzie; brother, Kee Yazzie
Bia; and one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Shorty, John Shorty Jr., Harrison
Shorty, Ambrose Shorty, Philanski Yazzie and Leonard Begay.
The family received relatives and friends at Fluted Rock, Hoskie
Yazzies residence.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Henry DeJolie
KAIBETO, Ariz. Services for Henry DeJolie, 62, will be
at 10 a.m., today, Aug. 28 at the Faith Bible Church in Page,
Ariz. Pastor John Tso will officiate. Burial will follow in the
DeJolie Family Plot in Kaibeto.
DeJolie was born Feb. 9, 1945 in Kaibeto into the Red House People
Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.
Survivors include his wife Roselyn DeJolie; son, Philbert Tso;
daughters, Arlinda Tso of Kaibeto and Kelly DeJolie of Kaibeto;
parents, Bob DeJolie and Florence DeJolie, both of Kaibeto; seven
grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Belinda DeJolie and
one grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Brian Tso, Richard H.D. Tso, Xavier Perez,
Oscar DeJolie, Leroy Walters and Al Walker.
Linda Yazzie
GALLUP Services for Linda Sue Yazzie, 40, will be at 10
a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29 at the Bethany Christian Reformed Church
in Gallup. Rev. Keith Bulthuis will officiate. Burial will follow
in Rehoboth.
Yazzie died Aug. 24, 2007 in Gallup. She was born Jan. 12, 1967
in Gallup into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for
the Folded Arms People Clan.
Yazzie attended Sunnyside Elementary School, Rehoboth Christian
School, Gallup High School and she was a self-employed jewelry
inlayer. She enjoyed biking, basketball, volleyball, walking,
hiking, cooking and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include her parents, Billy B. Yazzie and Dorothy Yazzie,
both of Gallup; brother, David Yazzie of Flagstaff; sister, Lucinda
Carey of Gallup.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother Helen Benito and
great-grandmother Nellie Williams.
Pallbearers will be J.W. Yazzie, Kirby Yazzie, Wes Benito, Darold
Johnson, Daniel Kaye and Larry Jinks.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Albert Romero Sr.
GALLUP Funeral Mass for Albert L. Romero Sr., 70, will
be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29 in St. Francis Church in Gallup.
Rev. Eduardo Espinosa, OFM, will officiate. Burial will follow
at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28 at Rollie
Mortuary. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m.
Romero, Sr. died Aug. 26, 2007 in Gallup. He was born Aug. 23,
1936 in Morenci, Ariz.
Romero, Sr. worked for Gallup Sand and Gravel for 35 years. He
enjoyed playing the guitar, spending time with his family and
going to church.
Survivors include his wife Amelia Romero; sons, Albert Romero
Jr., Michael Romero, both of Gallup, Joseph Romero of Gamerco,
Daniel Romero of Leadville, Colo.; daughters, Patricia Soto, Diana
Martinez, Gloria Martinez, all of Gallup; brothers, Placido Romero,
Alfonso Romero Sr., both of Gallup; sisters, Susie Romero, Helen
Rios, both of Gallup; 30 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Romero, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Waldo and Delovina
Romero; and one brother Manuel Romero
Pallbearers will be Charles A. Soto III, Lawrence Ramirez, Sr.,
Jody Romero, Michael Romero, Raymond Romero, Maurice Romero and
Joey Alonzo.
A reception will be at the K.C. Hall following services.

Jameson Begay
TSAYATOH Funeral services for Jameson Begay, 23, will
be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Ted
Farris will officiate. Burial will follow at Gallup City Cemetery.
Begay died Aug. 23, 2007 in Tsayatoh. He was born May 21, 1985
in Gallup into the Sleep Rock People Clan for the Red Running
into the Water People Clan.
Begay attended Gallup High School and worked at the East Sonic
Drive-in as a cook. He enjoyed lifting weights, listening to music
and being with friends. Begay also enjoyed riding bikes.
Survivors include his daughters, Beonica Begay of Cousins and
Makayla Begay of Gallup; parents, Esther Whitegoat of Williams
Acre and James Begay of Manuelito Canyon; brothers, Eric Begay
and Gary Begay both of Williams Acre; sisters, Genevieve of Williams
Acre and Pamelisa Begay of Albuquerque; grandparents, Mary B.
Whitegoat and Eddie Shue.
Begay was preceded in death by his stepfather, Larry Walley;
grandparents, Dennison Whitegoat and Mary A. Begay.
Pallbearers will be Gary Begay, Eric Begay, Emerson Begay, Lester
Ramone, Dennis Whitegoat, and Benver Whitegoat.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Tsayatoh
Chapter House.
Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
Dustin Baca
GRANTS Funeral Mass for Dustin Baca, 27, will be at 10
a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.
Very Rev. Alberto Avella will officiate. Burial will follow at
Grants Memorial Park.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 28 at St. Teresa
of Avila Catholic Church. Deacon Ed Olona will officiate.
Baca died Aug. 25, 2007 in Grants. He was born June 2, 1980 in
Grants.
Baca graduated from Grants High School in 1998, attended Highlands
University in Las Vegas, N.M., graduated with a Bachelor of Arts
Degree, majoring in Education in 2003. He was employed as a teacher
at Grants High School. Baca taught his first year of school in
Belen before taking a teaching a position at Thoreau High School
for one year. He had just accepted the position of Head Wrestling
Coach at Grants High and was an assistant football coach at Los
Alamitos. He was looking forward to coaching track in the spring.
Baca loved playing and coaching sports, tinkering with automobiles,
and roping with his dad.
Survivors include his parents, Joseph and Barbara Baca of Milan;
brother, Derrick Baca of Dallas, Texas; sister, Desiree Baca of
Milan; grandmothers, Marilyn Mattila of Grants and Lolia Baca
of Albuquerque.
Pallbearers will be Derrick Baca, Eugene Moleres, Gerald Fuell,
Joshua Baca, Dominic Moleres, C.J. Baca, Zach Gutierrez, Arika
Fuell.
Marie Morris
BLOOMFIELD Funeral services for Marie K. Morris, 93, will
be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 30 at Four Corners Community Church
in Shiprock. Burial will follow at Shiprock Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29 at Desert
View Funeral Home Chapel and Thursday, Aug. 30 one hour prior
to services at Four Corners Community Church.
Morris died Aug. 24, 2007 in Bloomfield. She was born July 13,
1914 in Tahcee, Ariz.
Survivors include her sons, Nelson Morris, Sr. of Shiprock and
Phillip Morris of Page, Ariz.; daughter, Phyllis Jim of Shiprock;
seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Morris was preceded in death by her husband, John E. Morris;
parents, Keyonnie Altsosie and Etcitty Bekis; brothers, Todacheenie
Altsosie, Keyonnie Begay, Donald Keyonnie, Bobby Tsosie and Steven
Tsosie; sisters, Keyonnnie Bekis, Suzanne Bedonie, Helen Burbank,
and Grace K. Keyers; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
Pallbearers will be Nelson Morris, Jr., Arthur Morris, Aidan
Morris, Aidan Lee, Xavier Lee, Julian Morris, and Leon Hatch.
Henry Millican
GRANTS Graveside services for Henry Millican, 80, were
at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 24 at Grants Memorial Park.
Millican died Aug. 14, 2007 in Grants. He was born July 25, 1927
in Lordsburg.
Millican was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He retired from the New Mexico Highway Department.
Survivors include his friends.
Van Marvin Purcell
MILAN, N.M. Services for Van Marvin Purcell, 80 will be
announced at a later date.
Purcell died Aug. 26 in Grants. He was born May 2, 1927 in Shamrock,
Texas.
Dollie Lee Yazzie
TOYEI, Ariz. Funeral services for Dollie Lee Yazzie, 71,
will be announced at a later date.
Yazzie died Aug. 25, 2007 in LakeWood, Wash. She was born Nov.
18, 1935 in White Clay, Ariz. into the Water Edge People Clan
for the Bitter Water People Clan.
A family meeting will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29 at Tohatchi
Chapter House.
