Lulla Bowman

FORT DEFIANCE — Funeral services for Lulla Mae Bowman, 57, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at Good Shepard Mission in Fort Defiance. Rev. Richard Red Stevens will officiate. Burial will follow at the family plot in Coal Mine.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Bowman died Aug. 26, 2007, in Albuquerque. She was born February 7, 1950 in Fort Defiance into the Salt People Clan for the Mud People Clan.

Bowman attended elementary school in Tse Bonito, Junior High School in Gallup, and High School in Anadarko, Okla., class of 1968. She was employed at Lucero’s Trading Post, Merchants Bank, Sunwest Bank, and KTNN Radio Station for 27 years. Bowman received numerous awards and certificates. She supported her sons’ participation in basketball and football.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Bowman, Sr.; sons, Lionel John, Lanagan Bowman, and Raymond Bowman, Jr.; brothers, Wilfred Joe Morris and Emery Joe Morris; sisters, Maggie M. Brown, Shirley John, and Linda Patcigo; and three grandchildren.

Bowman was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Isabelle Morris; grandparents, Charley and Lena Morris, Hoskie Joe Morris and Louise Morris.

Pallbearers will be Reynaldo P. Brown, Ramone E. Brown, Alonzo John, Dalvin John, Marcus Benally, Michael McCray.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Good Shepard Thorne Building in Fort Defiance.


James Abe

KINLICHEE, Ariz. — Funeral services for James J. Abe, 84, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 31 at Rollie Mortuary. Pastor Jay McCollum will officiate. Burial will follow in Kinlichee.

Visitation will be at Rollie Mortuary.

Abe died Aug. 25, 2007, in Gallup. He was born May 15, 1923 in Kinlichee into the Honey Comb Rock People Clan.

Survivors include his sons, Ronald Abe, Herman Abe, and William Abe; daughters, Winifred V. Abe and Genieve Abe; 18 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Abe was preceded in death by his parents, John Abe and Yeah Kes Bah Abe.

Pallbearers will be family members.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Brian Piaso

PREWITT — Services for Brian Piaso, 34, will be announced at a later date.

Piaso died Aug. 27, 2007, in Santa Fe. He was born April 18, 1973 in Crownpoint.
