Ben Tsosie
CHINLE Services for Ben Thompson Tsosie, 78, will be 10
a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Father
Blaine will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Chinle
Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Dec. 10 at Our Lady of
Fatima Catholic Church.
Tsosie died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 in Phoenix.
He was born April 23, 1929 in Many Farms into the Charcoal Streaked
Division of the Red Running Into the Water People Can for the
Yucca Fruit-Strung-Out-In-A- Line People Clan.
He attended Phoenix Indian School in 1945 and served in the National
Guard. He worked for the Navajo Nation from 1960-1975 as a surveyor.
He enjoyed traveling, playing cards Navajo Ten, and
watching football, basketball, boxing and old western movies.
Survivors include wife, Katie F. of Tohatchi; sons, Benjamin
V. of Anchorage, Alaska, Marcus E. of Albuquerque, Michael K.
of Mexican Springs, Delbert J. of Tohlakai, N.M., Virgil K. of
Chinle, Lyndon B. of Gallup; daughter, Yolinda K. of Albuquerque;
sisters, Jean Little, Linda Tsosie, both of Many Farms; 19 grandchildren;
four great-grandchildren.
Tsosie was preceded in death by Hosteen Begay, Naa Bah Begay,
Ray Begay, Kee Tsosie, Kee Bahe, Glenn Taylor, Eva Bahe.
Pallbearers will be Eric Tsosie, Brandon Tsosie, Karl Tsosie,
Ryan Tsosie, Derrick Cadman, Martin Hernandez.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Catholic
Hall in Chinle after services.
There will be a family meeting at Church of Christ in Many Farms,
today , Dec. 8 at 6 p.m.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Robert Mitchell
DENNEHOTSO, Ariz. Services for Robert Mitchell, 42, will
be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10 at the Bible Church in Dennehotso,
Ariz. Pastor Allen Mitchell Sr. will officiate. Burial will be
in the community cemetery in Dennehotso.
Mitchell died Dec. 5, 2007 in Dennehotso. He was born June 18,
1965 in Dennehotso into the Folded Arms Within His Cover People
Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.
Survivors include brothers, Albert Mitchell, Mark Mitchell, Phillip
Mitchell, Joe Mitchell, Allen Mitchell, Rex Mitchell, Kee Mitchell,
Travis Mitchell; sisters, Gladys Mitchell, Etta Mitchell, Anita
Mitchell.
Mitchell was preceded in death by brother, Pete Mitchell.
Pallbearers will be Travis Mitchell, Leroy Nelson Jr., Allen
Mitchell Jr., Anderson Redhouse, Paul MItchell, Thomas Maze Jr.
There will be a family meeting Saturday, Dec. 8 at Dennehotso
Chapter House from 6 -7 p.m.
Raymond Malone Jr.
FORT DEFIANCE Services are pending for Raymond Malone
Jr., 51.
Malone Jr. died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007 in Albuquerque. He was
born August 14, 1956 in Fort Defiance into the Mud People Clan
for the Red Running Into Water People Clan.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
