Petra Hernandez

GALLUP — Funeral Mass for Petra Hernandez, 97, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 14 at the St. Francis Church, Gallup. Father Lalo will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be 5-6:30 p.m. today, Dec. 13 at Rollie Mortuary. A rosary will be recited at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 14 at St. Francis Church.

Hernandez died Dec. 11, 2007 in Gallup. She was born June 27, 1910 in Guanajato, Mexico.

She retired from the City of Gallup. Hernandez worked as a cook for the Northside Senior Center and enjoyed cooking and helping others.
Survivors include her son, Anselmo Zavela; daughter, Josie Mata; sister, Luz Herrera.

Hernandez was preceded in death by her parents, Lino and Encarnacion Perez; sister, Mary Hernandez.

Pallbearers will be Joe Herrera, Paul Herrera, Gabriel Herrera, Roman Herrera, Frank Herrera, Patrick Herrera.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 604 W. Wilson in Gallup after services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Gladys Williams

STEAMBOAT, Ariz. — Services for Gladys B. Williams, 80, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14 at the Jesus Christ of Latter-Day of Saints Church in Steamboat. President Peter Yazzie will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot in Steamboat.

Williams died Dec. 9, 2007 in Flagstaff. She was born Jan. 15, 1927 in Steamboat into the Mexican People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.

Williams was a homemaker and rancher. She enjoyed making traditional meals and clothing. She was a P.A.C. member and a elderly advocate. Her hobbies included jewelry making and spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Survivors include daughters, Charlene Haskie of Toyei, Ariz., Judith Jake, Janice Harrison, both of Chinle, Marcilena Chee of Steamboat; sisters, Susie Thompson of Toyei, Louise Shirley of Phoenix; 22 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.

Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Kee Williams; sons, Pete K. Williams, Tony K. Williams; brothers, Lawrence Begay, Johnny Mike Behay, Kenneth Begay, Burt Welsey; sisters, Anita Begay, Ida Tahy.
Pallbearers will be Lee Mike Begay, Lanteno Haskie, Kristopher Williams, Gradishar Harrison, Lionel Salabye and Jared McCabe.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Steamboat Chapter House after services.


Ruth Tsosie

KLAGETOH — Services for Ruth Lee Tsosie will be 10 a.m. Dec. 14. Burial will be in Klagetoh. Visitation will be at Klagetoh Mission. A rosary will be recited at noon at Klagetoh Chapter House.

Tsosie died Dec. 8, 2007 in Gallup. She was born May 29, 1930 in Gallup into the Edge People Clan for the Water People Clan.

Tsosie was a homemaker.

Survivors include her sons, Nelson Clark, Emmett Tsosie, Lorenzo Tsosie, Vincent Tsosie, all of Klagetoh; daughters, Angies Chee, Ethelyn Stout, Maxine Master, Edith Tsosie, Ruby Johnson, Laura Tsosie, all of Klagetoh; 48 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren.
Tsosie was preceded in death by brother, Kenneth Begay.

Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Tsosie, Jamie Benally Sr., Vincent Tsosie, Nelson Clark, Donovan Tsosie, Thomason Tsosie, Darriell Upshaw.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Klagetoh Chapter House after services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Fredrico Hernandez

GALLUP — Services are pending for Fredrico Hernandez, 77.

Hernandez died Saturday, Dec. 1, 2007 in Gallup. He was born April 22, 1930 in Los Angeles, Calif.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Mary Martin

IYANBITO — Services are pending for Mary Ann Martin, 75.

Martin died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2007 in Gallup. She was born Dec. 19, 1931 in Rehoboth into the Gray Streak Ends People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
