Russell Tom
CROWNPOINT Services for Russell Tom, 31, will be 10 a.m.
Saturday, Dec. 22 at the Gosbel Light House. Burial will be in
Thoreau Cemetery.
Tom died Sept. 17, 2007 in Kayotee Canyon.. He was born Sept.
9, 1976 in Gallup.
Donald Povatah
POLACCA, Ariz. Services for Donald Povatah, 43, will be
at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Polacca,
Ariz. Burial will follow at the Tewa (Hono) Village Cemetery.
Povatah died Dec. 20, 2007. He was born Feb. 23, 1964 in Brigham
City, Utah into the Folding Arm People Clan for the Tewa Tobacco
People Clan.
Povatah attended Tohatchi High School, entered military service
and completed his education at Northern Arizona University with
a Bachelors of Science degree and Masters degree in Foresty. He
worked at Hopi Agency Wildland Fire Department as a Fire Management
officer, fire investigator and firefighter. He dedicated his time
to teaching, leading and service work.
Survivors include his parents, Eldon Povatah and Pearl Povatah;
wife, Delphine Povatah; sons, Joshua Povatah, Benjiman Povatah;
daughters, Stephanee Povatah and Dianne Povatah; sister, Maranda
Lomayaktewa; one grandchild.
Pallbears will be Duane Morris, Micheal Morris, Gregory Morris,
Linsey Koinva and Caldon Koinva.
Richard Attson Sr.
CHINLE Funeral services for Richard Albert Attson Sr.,
62, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22 at the Chinle Catholic Church.
Father Blain will officiate. Burial will be in the family plot.
Visitation will be at the Catholic Church Dec. 22 at 9 a.m.
Attson died Dec. 17, 2007 in Chinle. He was born Feb. 21, 1945
in Chinle into the Water Edge People Clan for the Towering House
People Clan.
Attson graduated from Chinle High School in 1968. He enjoyed
playing golf, cards, and spending time with his sister and grandchildren.
Survivors include sons, Richard Attson Jr. of Chinle, Ronald E.
Attson of Flagstaff, Shawn Morgan of Woodsprings; daughters, Rosita
E. Maltine of Albuquerque, Roberta Attson of Chinle, Rocinta Attson
of Flagstaff, Cynthia Martine of Low Mountain; brothers, John
Mitchell Sr. of Chinle, Charley Mitchell of Chinle, William Attson
Sr. of Chinle; Rose Charley of Chinle, Dorothy Smith of Chinle,
Lousie Savala of Phoenix, Ruth Burbank of Chinle, Grace Attson
of Chinle; 19 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
Attson Sr. was preceded in death by parents, Herman and Mae Attson;
brother, Herman Attson; grandparents, Totsonii and Geebah Yazzie.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Attson, Richard Attson Jr., John Mitchell
Sr., Ruben Charley Sr., Michael Tsosie Sr, Richard Nez, Micah
Begay, and Aron Logan.
The family will receive relatives and friends at 1/4 mile north
of the Chinle P.D. at thebeige house with brown top in Chinle.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Aislinn Lawrence
ALBUQUERQUE Graveside services Aislinn Denise Lawrence,
24, will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Lawrence died Sunday, Dec. 16, 2007.
Survivors include her parents, Steve Lawrence, Eugene and Eileen
Harris; sister, Jennifer Lawrence; brother, Michael Harris; grandmother,
Janice Donnelly;
Lawrence was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul V. Donnelly
Sr., Dewey and Alice Lawrence.
