Jolene Smith
GALLUP Services for Jolene Angel Smith, 27, will be 9
a.m. Dec. 31 at the Rollie Mortuary Chapel. Pastor Bill Overton
will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park, Gallup.
Smith died Dec. 26, 2007 in Gallup. She was born April 2, 1980
in Fort Defiance into the Coyote Pass/Jemez People Clan for the
Bitter Water People Clan.
Smith graduated from Central High School. She received her associates
degree from UNM, and was working on a double Bachelor Majors in
Economics and Political Science. She was currently employed at
the First Community Bank in Gallup. Her hobbies included being
with her kids, shopping, dancing and skating.
Survivors include her sons, Tanoan Webster, Caleb Shirley, both
of Gallup; daughter, Anjel Webster of Gallup; parent, L. Jim Looking
Glass of Shiprock, sisters, Kimberlene Kirk of Rio Ranchco.
Smith was preceded in death by mother, Mary Looking Glass; brother,
Eldon Curley; grandmother, Evelyn Curley; grandfather, Jim Curley.
Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Webster, Anthony Shirley, Chris Yazzie,
Darrell Joe, Mark Armstrong, and Richard Gail.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Joshua Generation
for Jesus, Gallup.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Community
Bank.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Geraldine Espinosa
SOCORRO Funeral Mass for Geraldine Lucille Espinosa,78,
was Thursday, December 27 at San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro.
A Rosary was recited on Dec. 27 at San Miguel Catholic Church.
Inurnment was in Santa Fe National Cemetery on Thursday, December
27, 2007 at 3:00 p.m.
Espinosa died Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 in Socorro. She was born
Feb. 1, 1929 in Gallup.
Espinosa enjoyed many careers from waitressing, sales clerk and
substitute teaching. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and
spending time with her family.
She is survived by her son, George P. Espinosa of Hoffman Estates,
Ill.; daughters, Arlene Sandoval of Gallup, Antionette Romero
of Socorro; brothers, Eddie Babbitt of Prescott, Ariz., Danny
Gomez of Albuquerque, Leo Gomez of Temple, Texas; sisters, Corine
Antler of Gallup, Thelma Ingram of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; six grandchildren;
13 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Pete C. Espinosa; parents
Edward and Annie (Ross) Babbitt; brothers, Richard and Arthur
Gomez.
Pallbearers were Reyes Romero, Gabriel Sandoval, Chuy Morales,
Jake Gomez, Brian Del Curto, Danny Ross, and Richard Gomez.
Kenneth Lee Sr.
THOREAU Funeral services for Kenneth E. Lee Sr., 77, will
be 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31 at the Thoreau Church of God. Pastor
Mark Thomas will officiate. Burial will be in Thoreau Community
Cemetery.
Lee died Dec. 25, 2007 in Grants. He was born Jan. 20, 1930 in
Smith Lake into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Black Streak
People Clan.
His hobbies included horsemanship, reading, watching Western
movies, and traveling.
Survivors include sons, Kenneth Lee Jr. of Aztec, Jackson Lee
of Nazlini; daughters, Irene Endito, Betty Henio, Doris Thompson,
Rhoda J. Corr, all of Thoreau, Rebecca Morgan of Smith Lake; brothers,
Homer E. Lee of Continental Divide, Robert (Bob) E. Lee Jr. of
Phoenix; sisters, Barbara J. Largo, Patsy Emerson, Mildred Largo
of Smith Lake, Minnie J. Sam of Fort Defiance, Sue J. Largo of
Salt Lake City, Ut.; 39 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren;
one great-great-grandchild.
Lee was preceded in death by wife, Bessie L. Lee; son, Lance
Cpl. Herbert E. Lee, USMC; sisters, Donna Largo, Caroline Lee;
brother, Raymond A. Lee.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Lee Sr., Homer Endito Jr., Shane L.
Carr, Garrett Lee, Dion Morgan, and La Mart Thompson.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Thoreau Chapter
House after services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Lucy Montoya
GALLUP Memorial services for Lucy Montoya will be 10:30
a.m. Jan 2 at the St. Francis Church, Gallup. Edwardo Espinosa
Chacon will officiate.
Montoya died Dec. 25, 2007 in Gallup. She was born Aug. 17, 1918
in Willard, N.M.
Montoya was a long time resident and enjoyed staying home with
children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her sons, Richard Montoya of Carlsbad; Jerry
Montoya, Max Montoya Jr., both of Gallup, Jose Torrez, Michael
Montoya, both of Albuquerque; daughters, Gloria Trujillo, Patsy
Chavez; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren.
Montoya was preceded in death by her husband, Max Montoya; parents,
Simon and Maria Torrez; daughter, Marcella.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Gallup Community
Service Center, 410 Bataan Veterans St., following services.
