Fred Adakai

MANUELITO, N.M. — Funeral services for Fred Adakai, 95, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Rollie Mortuary. Visitation was from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park.

Adakai died Wednesday, Jan. 31 in Gallup. He was born Dec. 15, 1911 in Two Wells, N.M. into the Mexican People Clan and for the Black Streak of Forest People Clan.

Adakai is survived by his sons, Frank Adakai of Albuquerque, Patrick Adakai of Tijeras Canyon, N.M., Jerry R. Adakai of Ft. Worth, Texas, Justin Adakai and Alvin Adakai, both of Manuelito, Paul Adakai of Tuba City, Ariz.; daughters, Rose Austin of Beclabito, N.M., Bessie Johnson of Garland, Texas, Pauline Myers of Farmington, N.M., Louise Adakai and Anita Adakai of Manuelito, and Anna Mae Aarseth of Las Cruces, N.M.

Adakai is preceded in death by his wife, Lenita Adakai; father, Willie Adakai; daughter, Stella Adakai.

Pallbearers will be Louise Adakai, Bessie Johnson, Pauline Myers, Rose Austin and Anna Mae Adakai.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Anita Adakai

MANUELITO, N.M. — Funeral services for Anita Adakai, 51, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Rollie Mortuary. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Park.

Adakai died Friday, Feb. 4 in Manuelito. She was born April 18, 1955 in Ft. Defiance, Ariz. into the Bitter Water People Clan and for the Towering House People Clan.

Adakai is survived by her brothers, Frank Adakai of Albuquerque, Patrick Adakai of Tijeras Canyon, N.M., Jerry R. Adakai of Ft. Worth, Texas, Justin Adakai and Alvin Adakai, both of Manuelito, Paul Adakai of Tuba City, Ariz.; sisters, Rose Austin of Beclabito, N.M., Bessie Johnson of Garland, Texas, Pauline Myers of Farmington, N.M., Louise Adakai of Manuelito; Anna Mae Aarseth of Las Cruces, N.M.

Adakai is preceded in death by her father, Fred Adakai; mother, Lenita Adakai; daughter, Tess Adakai; sister, Stella Adakai.

Pallbearers will be Louise Adakai, Bessie Johnson, Pauline Myers, Rose Austin and Anna Mae Adakai.
