Ruben Perales

LOS LUNAS — Services for Ruben Perales III, 19, were at 10 a.m. Feb. 3 at San Clemente Catholic Church in Los Lunas. A viewing was at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 2 at San Clemente Catholic Church followed by a rosary recited at 7 p.m. and a final viewing 9:30 a.m. Feb. 3. Interment was 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 5 at San Clemente Catholic Church.

Perales died Jan. 31 in Los Lunas.

Perales was a member of the San Clemente Catholic Church. He graduated from Los Lunas High School in 2005 and attended University of New mexico Valencia Campus. He was employed with South West Endoscopy. He enjoyed football, four-wheeling, fishing, camping and playing with his dog.

Survivors include finace, Vanessa Garcia; parents, Ruben Jr. and Annette Perales; brothers, Jamie Perales and Zachary Perales; sister, Lynne M. Perales; grandparents, Ruben Perales Sr. and Dolores B. Perales of Gallup, Andrew Tafoya and Ramona L. Tafoya; many more family members.

Urn pallbearers were Ruben Jr., Jamie Perales, Zachary Perales, Nick Padilla, Carlos Garcia, Joseph Sanchez, Tommy Greigo and Octavio Ayala.

The family requests donations be made in Ruben's name to UNM Cancer Research Treatment Center.


Vernon Ferguson

MILAN — Services for Vernon Ray Ferguson, 67, will be 10 a.m. Feb. 8 at Compassion Mortuary in Grants. Pastor Dale Copeland will officiate. Burial will follow at Dove Creek, Colo.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 7 at Compassion Mortuary.

Ferguson died Sunday, Feb. 4 in Milan. He was born Sept. 6, 1939 in Dove Creek, Colo.

Survivors include children, Tony Ferguson of Milan, Boyd Ferguson of Idabel, Okla., Karen Dickerson of Dierks, Ark.; father, Vernon A. Ferguson of Ellington, MO.; brothers, Curtis Ferguson of Cortez, Colo., Willis Ferguson of Grand Junction, Colo., Leom Ferguson of Cortez and Howard Ferguson of Winona, Mo.; sister, Reba Davis of Harrison, Ark.; four grandchildren.

Ferguson was preceded in in death by his wife, Fay Ferguson and mother, Elva Ferguson.

Pallbearers will be Tony Ferguson, Boyd Ferguson, Howard Ferguson, Steven Ferguson, Daniel Ferguson and Johnny Dickerson.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Tyrone Sice

ALBUQUERQUE — Services for Tyrone W. Sice, 46, will be 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5 at Salazar & Sons Mortuary in Albuquerque. Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6 at Village of Paraje in Laguna, N.M.

Sice died Thursday, Feb. 1 in Albuquerque. He was born in Gallup.

Survivors include step-father, Paul Thompson; brother, Frederick Thompson; sisters, Jocelyn Sice, Sidney Sice and Danielle Thompson; many family members and friends.

Sice was preceded in death by father, Wilbert H. Sice and mother, Pauline S. Thompson.

Pallbearers will be Vincent Romero, Anthony Romero, Frederick Thompson, Michael Sice, Randy Padilla and John Montoya.


Alice Hood

SUNDANCE, N.M. — Services for Alice C. Hood, 72, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Rehoboth Cemetery.

Hood was born July 4, 1934 in Pinehaven, N.M.

Hood's hobbies include weaving, silver polishing and sash belt weaver.

Survivors include her husband, David Hood; brothers, Phillip Chee, Johnny Chee and Jimmie D. Chee.

Hood was preceded in death by parents, Pat Chee and Mae L. Chee; sister, Ella R. Chee.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Chee, Jimmie Chee, Brian Chee, Kendall Long and Peter Livingston.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Blas Saucedo

GALLUP — Services for Blas Saucedo Jr., 68, will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2007 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Gallup. To honor Saucedo, his family invites family and friends to attend his Rosary and memorial services. A reception for those he loved and cherished will follow one hour after at the Knights of Columbus.

Saucedo died on Sunday, February 4, 2007 in Gallup. He was born on February 12, 1938 in Gallup.

Saucedo was a Seabee Veteran of the United States Naval Mobile Construction Battalion No. 11 as a welder/pipe fitter. He was also the founder and president of the motorcycle club called the Syndicate, MC from 1972 to 1983. He returned home to Gallup and worked for McKinley Area Services for the Handicapped for seventeen years as the woodshop teacher and operations manager from 1986 to 2000. His hobbies and interests included being with family (especially grandchildren), gardening, painting, barbequing and grocery shopping.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Iris Saucedo; children, Gina Saucedo, Dina Saucedo, Denise Martin, Laura Vickers, Blas Saucedo III, Joseph Saucedo, and B. Elena Saucedo; seventeen grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Blas Saucedo Sr., and his mother, Soledad Garcia Saucedo.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Bennett Smith

BLUEWATER — Services for Bennett Smith, 24, will be announced at a later date.

Smith died Feb. 3 in Morris, Ill. He was born July 24, 1982 in Gallup into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
