Billie Craig
BELEN Services for Billie R. Craig, 65,
will be 1 p.m., Saturday, February 24, at the First Baptist Church
of Belen with Dr. Bruce Baker officiating. Visitation will be
at the church one hour before services. Interment will be private
in Pineville, Ky.
Craig died on Feb. 21. She was born in 1941. She enjoyed line
dancing and had previously worked as a nurse with special needs
children in Gallup before moving to Belen in 1998.
She is survived by her husband, Preston Craig; sisters, Betty
Hopkins of Pineville, Ky., Phyllis Alfano of Jeffersonville, Ind.,
and Brenda Gambrel of Westminster, Colo.; brother, Jimmy Gambrel
of Pineville, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Verna Gambrel.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to the charity
of your choice to further ovarian cancer research.
Elma Meadows
GALLUP Funeral Mass and a rosary for
Elma Esther (Landavazo) Meadows, 70, will be at 2 p.m., Saturday,
Feb. 24 at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Gallup. Rev. Lawrence J.
O'Keefe will officiate.
Meadows died Feb. 20 in Albuquerque. She was born July 31, 1936
in Gallup.
She raised her family in Midwest City, Okla., and ultimately retired
in Gallup in May of 2006.
Survivors include her husband Phil Meadows; children Adrian Landavazo
of Gallup, Phyllis Meadows-Rose if Newcastle, Okla., Jack Meadows
of Las Vegas, Nev., Phillip Charles Meadows of Choctaw, Okla.:
brothers Roberto "Eddie" Landavazo and Charlie Landavazo,
both of Gallup; and 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Manuel S. and Isidora
P. Landavazo and one brother Joseph Landavazo
Melvin Livingston
ZUNI Services for Melvin Livingston,
44, will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 24 at Rollie Mortuary Chapel.
Pastor Bobby Arviso will officiate. Burial will follow in Sunset
Memorial Park in Gallup.
Livingston died Feb. 21 in Albuquerque. He was born Sept. 30,
1962 in Gallup into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Red Running
Into the Water People Clan.
Livingston served in the U.S. Army National Guard.
Survivors include his wife Susan Livingston of Zuni; son Justin
Betony of Germany; daughters Melanie Livingston, Melvina Livingston,
both of Zuni; parents Alvin and Mary Livingston of Church Rock;
brothers Paul Livingston and Ray Livingston, both of Church Rock;
sisters Lena Leslie of Pinedale, N.M. and Bernice Coleman of Kaibito,
Ariz.; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother David Livingston.
Pallbearers will be the American Legion #98 of Zuni.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Sheppie Natan
PINE HILL Services for Sheppie Natan,
89, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints in Ramah. Pastor Russell Aaron will officiate.
Burial will follow in the family plot in Red Lake, N.M.
Natan died Feb. 20 in Zuni. He was born Apr. 15, 1917 in Ramah
into the Overhanging Rock People Clan for the Water Flows Together
People Clan.
Natan was employed as a teachers aide and construction laborer.
He was a rancher and a member of the Ramah Navajo Chapter House.
Survivors include wife, Elsie Skeet Natan; sons, Alfred Natan,
Gene Natan, Hoskie Natan, Burton Natan, Elvis Natan and Andrew
Natan; daughters, Anita Teengar, Amy-Margaret Natan, Celestina
Mary Natan, Nada Natan-Currier and Mary Magdalene Natan-Yazzie;
38 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Natan was preceded in death by parents, Jose Natan and Juanita
Natan; brothers, Joe Natan and Abaron Natan; sisters, Lita Natan-Pino,
Rosita Natan-Coho, Anita Natan-Beaver, Nora Natan-Coho and Shadrach
Natan.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Currier, Darren Yazzie, Al Courtney
Teengar, Brandon Natan, Alejandro Natan and Issac Natan.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Red Lake Campground
after services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Raymond Eskeets
SEATTLE, Services for Raymond Eskeets,
Jr., 63, will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 24 at Rollie Mortuary.
Pastor Rob Byker will officiate. Burial will follow at Rehoboth
Mission Cemetery.
Eskeets died Feb. 19 in Seattle. He was born July 10, 1943 in
Rehoboth into the Meadow People Clan for the Bitter Water People
Clan.
Survivors include his sons Hiran Eskeets, Raynard Eskeets, both
of Seattle, LeVon Eskeets of Chinle; daughters Pearly Eskeets
of Phoenix, Raelene Eskeets of Seattle, Sherry Eskeets of Chinle,
Burlene Padilla of Federal Way, Wash.; sisters Laura Eskeets of
Chinle, Lorraine June of Church Rock; brothers Leonard Eskeets,
Louis Eskeets, both of Gallup, and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond Eskeets Sr., Louise
Eskeets; son Ronnie Eskeets; brothers Leo Eskeets, Leon Eskeets;
sisters Linda Garcia and Lenora Manning.
Pallbearers will be Danny Padilla, Hiran Eskeets, Raynard Eskeets,
Lionel Eskeets, Lonnie Eskeets and Nicholus Eskeets.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
James Felson Sr.
ROCK SPRINGS, N.M. Services with full
military honors for James W. Felson Sr., 57, will be at 11 a.m.,
Saturday, Feb. 24 at the First United Methodist Church in Gallup.
Pastor David Lee will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset
Memorial Park in Gallup.
Felson died Feb. 18 in Gallup. He was born July 4, 1949 in Fort
Defiance People Clan into the Bitter Water People Clan for the
Zuni People Clan.
Felson attended Gallup High School and enlisted into the U.S.
Army. He worked for the Rock Island Railroad, United Nuclear Mine,
P&M Mine, Tseyatoh Head Start, was a land board official in
1985 and elected president of Tseyatoh Chapter from 1992-1996.
His hobbies included watching TV, listening to the radio, being
involved with the community, being with family and friends and
he was a Dallas Cowboys fan.
Survivors include his wife Helen J. Felson of Rock Springs; sons
Donovan J. Felson, James Felson Jr., Byron J. Felson, all of Rock
Springs; brothers Robert Felson Sr., of Church Rock and John Felson
Jr., of Long Beach, Calif.; sisters Laura M. Felson, Laurel J.
Felson, Pearlene A. Felson; and five grandchildren.
Felson was preceded in death by his parents John Felson Sr., and
Fannie B. Felson, two sisters and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Donovan Felson, James Felson Jr., Byron J.
Felson, Ray Trephibio, Robert Felson Sr., and Leighton J. Felson.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Tseyatoh
Chapter House after services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Emerson Yazzie, Jr.
VANDERWAGEN Services for Emerson Yazzie,
Jr., 21 will be announced at a later date.
Yazzie died Feb. 22 in Vanderwagen. He was born Sept. 5, 1985
in Gallup.
A family meeting will be 6 p.m. today, Feb. 23 at Herbert Bell's
residents, 804 Draco in Gamerco.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Eugene Dennison
TOHATCHI Services for Eugene Halderman
Dennison, 78, will be announced at a later date.
Dennison died Feb. 21 in Gallup. He was born Dec. 25, 1928 into
the Tangle People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.
