Eugene Dennison

TOHATCHI — Services for Eugene Halderman Dennison, 78, will be 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 26 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tohatchi. Father Joe Redindo will officiate. Burial will follow at the community cemetery in Tohatchi.

Dennison died Feb. 21 in Gallup. He was born Dec. 25, 1928 in Horse Look Out, N.M. into the Tangle People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.

Dennison retired after 45 years with El Paso Natural Gas Co. He received many awards and recognition from the Gas Co. He was a rancher and horseman.

Survivors include wife, Annie Dennison; sons, Wayne Dennison, Karlets Dennison, Jefferson Dennison and Wallace Dennison; daughters, Betty D. Heidenreich, Cynthia Dennison and Shirley D. Francisco; brothers, Louis Dennison and Michael Dennison; 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Dennison was preceded in death by parents, Mary and Halderman; sisters, Grace and Lorraine.

Pallbearers will be Arvis Franciso, Chris Bitsilly, Brant Francisco, Garrett Dennison, Kyle Dennison and Wacey Francisco.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Emerson Yazzie Jr.

VANDERWAGEN — Services for Emerson Yazzie Jr., 21, will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 27 at the Pine Tree Mission in Vanderwagen. Pastor Vergil Chee will officiate. Burial will follow in Pine Tree Cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday, Feb 26 from 3-5 p.m., at Cope Memorial Chapel and a wake will be 6 p.m., Monday at 804 Draco in Gamerco.

Yazzie died Feb. 22 in Vanderwagen. He was born Sept. 5, 1985 in Gallup into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Turtle Clan of the Seneca.

Yazzie was a resident of Vanderwagen. He was an artist and attended high school in Santa Fe.

Survivors include his daughter Vernicia Jack of Gallup; parents Marcella Bitsie of Gamerco and Emerson Yazzie Sr., of Vanderwagen; brothers Edmund Bitsie of Gamerco, Robert Bitsie of Vanderwagen, Leanderson Yazzie and Irvinson Yazzie, both of Crestview, N.M., Elrey Yazzie of Zuni; grandparents Helen Yazzie of Vanderwagen, Richard Yazzie of Mexican Springs.

Pallbearers will be Herbert Bitsie, Eugene Blueeyes, Antonio Arias, Randy Yazzie, Bernie Tsosie and Anderson Yazzie.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Patricia Slinn

MENTMORE — Services for Patricia Ellen Catherine Slinn, 64, will be at 7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 26 at Sacred Heart Cathedral. Private disposition will follow.

Slinn was born Feb. 19, 1942 in Suffrin, N.Y. She attended UNM-Albuquerque and Gallup and practiced as a lay midwife and Lamaze coach until she retired.

Survivors include her sons Christopher Morrow, Daniel Morrow, both of Norfolk, Va., Patrick Morrow of Houston, Texas; daughters Therese Golden of Vienna, Va., Marta Mikesell of Nez Perce, Idaho, Ruth Mathias of Mathias, W. Va.; father Clarence Slinn Jr.; brother Clarence Slinn III of Hollywood, Fla., and 28 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother Marjorie Slinn.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangments.


Henry Thompson

LOWER GREASEWOOD, Ariz. — Graveside services for Henry Thompson, 69, will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 26 at the Lower Greasewood Cemetery. Vernon Schaffer will officiate.

Thompson died Feb. 20 in Winslow, Ariz. He was born Jan. 2, 1938 in Lower Greasewood into the Coyote Pass People Clan for the Red House People Clan.

Thompson attended Intermountain Indian School in Utah. He enjoyed listening to the radio, watching western movies and rodeos, cooking, helping family friends and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Mildred Begaye; stepsons Joe W. Begaye of Peoria, Ariz., Roger W. Begaye of Thoreau; stepdaughters Marie Bedah of Tohatchi, Nellie Dalgai of Gallup, Irene Begaye of Ganado, Genevieve Deschine of Phoenix, Della Begaye of Sunrise, Ariz., Rita Jumbo of Chinle; brothers Jimmie Thompson, Wilson Thompson, both of Lower Greasewood; sisters Rose Yazzie, Jane Harrison, both of Phoenix.

Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Benally, Nathan Benally, Randall Teller, Ruben Castillo, Darrell Castillo and Nathan Yazzie.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Lower Greasewood Chapter House.


Helen Mosher

GALLUP — Services for Helen Frances Mosher, 91, will be announced at a later date.

Mosher died Feb. 23 in Gallup. She was born July 12, 1915 in Quincy, Mass.

There will be a rosary Monday, Feb. 26 at 7 p.m. at Rollie Mortuary.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
