Alfred Kalleco
STANDING ROCK Services for Alfred Joe
Kalleco, 71, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, March 1 at Cope Memorial
Chapel. Minister Steven Nez will officiate. Burial will follow
at the family plot in Standing Rock.
Kalleco died Feb. 24 in Mariano Lake. He was born July 25, 1935
in Standing Rock into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan
for the Water Flows Together People Clan.
Kalleco attended Chama Indian School and served in the U.S. Army.
He was employed with West Foods, Inc. in Salem, Ore. and retired
with NTUA in Fort Defiance as a warehouse man. He enjoyed working
outside, fixing and building things.
Survivors include son, Arliss A. Kalleco of Fort Defiance and
daughter, Brenda A. Warner of Mariano Lake; four grandchildren.
Kalleco was preceded in death by his wife, Roselina N. Kalleco;
his parents, Be-Gee Bah and Joe Calico; brothers, Carl Kalleco,
Charlie Kalleco, Sam Kalleco, Don Kalleco, Frankie Kalleco and
Bennie Kalleco; sisters, Mary Kalleco and Helen Jim.
Pallbearers will be Renondo Warner, Elmer Kalleco, Floyd Morgon,
Derek Kalleco, Garry Jymm and Jerome Morgon.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Standing Rock
Chapter House after services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
May Tatsukawa
GALLUP Services for May Tatsukawa, 76,
will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 1 at the First United Methodist
Church in Gallup. Burial will be at a later date at Sunset Memorial
Park.
Tatsukawa died Feb. 26 in Albuquerque. She was born May 1, 1930
in Olney Springs, Colo.
She was the owner of the Eagle Restaurant in Gallup.
Survivors include her son Robert Tatsukawa of Gallup; six grandchildren
and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mike Tatsukawa; daughter
Paula Goforth; parents Jairku and Chiye Yunoki; sisters Misao
Sakari, Akiko Yunoki, Hattie Nakayame, Haruye Hirokawa; and one
brother Shiji Yunoki.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Ellen Denny
CINCINNATI, OH. Services for Ellen J.
Denny, 79, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Mar. 2 at St. Clement Church
in St. Bernard, Ohio. Father Bruno will officiate. Burial will
follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in St. Bernard, Ohio.
Visitation will be 9-10:30 a.m. Friday, Mar. 2 at Imwalle Memorial
Funeral Home.
Denny died Feb. 26 in Cincinnati. She was born Apr. 3, 1927 in
Cincinnati.
Denny was a resident of Gallup for 20 years.
Survivors include sons, Timothy Denny and Richard Denny; daughter,
Kathleen Ross; brother, John "Jack" Cleary; seven grandchildren
and nine great-grandchildren.
Denny was preceded in death by her husband, Harold S. Denny.
Eddie Parker
WINDOW ROCK Services for Eddie Dean Parker,
33, will be 1 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 1 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Reverend
Dennis Gardner will officiate. Burial will follow at the City
Cemetery.
Parker died Feb. 24 in Gallup. He was born Feb. 16, 1974 in Gallup
into the Towering House People Clan for the Folded Arms People
Clan.
Parker attended Shiprock Alternative School and was self-employed
as an artist.
Survivors include son, Tyrell Dean Parker of Gallup; parents,
George R. Henry of Whiterock, N.M.; sister, Geralynn Henry of
Window Rock; grandmother, Anna Haney.
Parker was preceded in death by mother, Roberta Parker and grandmother,
Irene Miller.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Rock Springs
Chapter House after burial.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Esther Johnson
LAGUNA, N.M. Services for Esther A. Johnson,
89, will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 1 at the Paguate Presbyterian
Church in Paguate. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at the Santa Fe
National Cemetery.
A traditional wake will be held today, Feb. 28, at 3:30 p.m.,
at the family home in Laguna.
Johnson died Feb. 26 in Casa Blanca, N.M. She was born Aug. 29,
1917 in Paguate.
Survivors include her son Walter K. Johnson of New Laguna and
her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray A. Johnson; parents
Robert and Mabel Analla.
Pallbearers will be Walter Johnson Jr., Boyd Johnson, Kevin Johnson,
Hector Lozano, Richard Smith Sr., Jerald Smith Sr., and Arthur
Aragon.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Ned Johnson Sr.
NAVAJO, N.M. Services for Ned K. Johnson
Sr., will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 1 at St. Mary's Catholic
Church in Tohatchi. Father Joe will officiate.
Visitation will be today, Feb. 28 from 4-7 p.m. at Cope Memorial
Chapel.
Johnson died Feb. 23 in Chinle. He was born Nov. 20, 1929 in Mariano
Lake into the Salt People Clan for the Black Streak People Clan.
Johnson was a NAC roadman, gourd dancer, a member of the Black
Creek Gourd Society, he was a retired BIA facility maintenance
worker, rancher and a rodeo man.
Survivors include his sons Ned Johnson Jr., of Crownpoint, Everett
Johnson Sr., of Navajo, N.M.; daughters Judith Chischilly of Window
Rock, Geneva Johnson of Albuquerque, Katherine Upshaw and Nedra
Johnson, both of Navajo; sister Irene Mariano of Crownpoint; 13
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Johnson was preceded in death by his wife Ellen Johnsom; parents
Tom and Lilly Johnson; brother Tony Johnson, and Janice Johnson.
Pallbearers will be Malcolm Chischilly, Thomas Upshaw, Everett
Johnson Sr., Elmer Johnson, Jared Johnson and Garrison Nez.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Mexican Springs
Chapter House after services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
George Bitah
BLACKHAT Services for George Bitah, 89,
will be announced at a later date.
Bitah died Feb. 27 in Gallup. He was born Oct. 4, 1917 in Ganado
into the Hairy Ones People Clan for the Towering House People
Clan.
