Cecilia Holland

ROUND ROCK, — Texas A viewing for Cecilia F. Holland, 69, Round Rock, Texas, will be at Beck Funeral Home in Round Rock, Texas from 5-7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5. A Rosary will follow. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6 in Beck Funeral Home. An inurnment ceremony will be at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery Hill Country Garden at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 7.

Holland died Dec. 26, 2006, in Round Rock. She was born on Oct. 4, 1937, in Corpus Christi, Texas.

She graduated as a registered nurse from St. Mary's School of Nursing in June 1959. On Feb. 10, 1962, she married Samuel M. Holland Jr., and they lived in Austin, Texas. They later moved to New Mexico, living in Farmington, Gallup and Alamogordo before returning to Texas in 1991.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She was a caring and hardworking nurse for 40 years, working primarily in obstetrics as a labor and delivery nurse. She touched countless lives with her loving manner and warm spirit. She was an avid reader with a sharp mind and easy laugh.

Holland is survived by her husband, Samuel M. Holland Jr.; daughters, Samantha Manuel of Garrett, Indiana and Stephanie Kuehl of Pflugerville; son, Samuel of Georgetown; siblings, Edith Krenek of Victoria, Louis Petru of Corpus Christi, Godfrey Petru of Goliad, Joe Petru of Longmont, Angeline Kapusta of Corpus Christi, Edward Petru of Corpus Chirsti, Henry Petru of Austin, and Lillian Steffek of Houston; six grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Angelina Petru.
