Mensun Kleppe

MANCOS, Colo. — Services for Mensun Joshway Kleppe, 28, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 5 at the First Baptist Church in Kayenta, Ariz. Burial will be at the private family land cemetery in Kayenta.

Visitation will be before and after the services.

Kleppe died Friday, Dec. 29 in Mancos. He was born Dec. 20, 1978 in Tuba City into the Reed People Clan for the Norwegian People.

Kleppe attended schools in Kayenta, Phoenix, Tucson, Dove Creek, Colo., Shiprock, Cortez, Colo. and Egnar, Colo. He worked many trades and was under many different contractors in the area and was a carpenter. He enjoyed watching and playing all sports, especially basketball. He was a Green Bay Packers football fan and loved to cook.

Survivors include wife, Heidi Kleppe of Mancos, Colo.; son, Josiah Kleppe of Mancos, Colo.; daughters, Raina Kleppe and Anela Kleppe, both of Mancos, Colo.; father, Michael Kleppe of Kayenta and mother, Terrista Big of Kayenta; brother, Ian Gambill of Kayenta; grandmother Opal Gran of Cortez and numerous other family members.

Pallbearers will be LeAndrew Small, Wade Small, Ian Gambill, Ryan Big, Roland Big and Shawn Big.

He was preceded in death by three grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.


Antonia Espinoza

GALLUP — Services for Antonia "Toni" Anita Espinoza, 98, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 6 at Cope Memorial Chapel in Gallup. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5 at Cope Memorial Chapel.

Espinoza died Dec. 27, 2006 in Gallup. She was born July 13, 1908 in Guerrero Temiscuala, Mexico.

Espinoza was a 1930 Gallup High School graduate and she was a preacher.

Survivors include son, Alex Espinoza of Farmington; sister, Lupe DeArmond of Gallup; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Espinoza was preceded in death by husband, Antonio Y. Espinoza; son, Ernest Espinoza; parents, Juan and Guadelupe Hernandez; brother, Ben Hernandez and sister, Isabel DeSoto.

Pallbearers will be Lorenzo Espinoza, Mathew Peters, Robert Lucero, Lewis Espinoza and Christian Espinoza.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Furr's Cafeteria after services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Gilpatrick Teengar

ALBUQUERQUE — Services for Gilpatrick "Pat" Lee Teengar, 24, will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6 at Rollie Mortuary Chapel. Douglas Kline will officiate. Burial will follow at Klagetoh Community Cemetery in Klagetoh.

Teengar was born Feb. 8, 1982 in Fort Defiance into the Black Streak Forest People Clan for the Salt Water People Clan.

Teengar attended Gallup High School. He was employed with Wal-Mart in Albuquerque. He was an Arizona Wildcat fan, and his greatest passion was working as a freelance artist. His hobbies include listening to music, being with family and friends.

Survivors include parents, Ralph and Alta Teengar of Gallup; brother, Rod Teengar of Albuquerque; sisters, Cynthia Teengar of Henderson, Nev., Michelle Galaviz and Shauna Teengar, both of Gallup; grandparents, Virginia Ambrose of Wide Ruins and Evangelist Argye and Bessie Teengar, both of Vanderwagen.

Teengar was preceded in death by grandparents, Ben Ambrose, Phillip Joe and Nellie Joe.

Pallbearers will be Clifton Harper, Bruce Roanhorse, Jan Michael Bob, Leon Jones, Dewayne Terry and Derrick Terry.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Klagetoh Chapter House after services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Hoskie Upshaw Jr.

FORT DEFIANCE — Services for Hoskie Long Upshaw Sr., 78, will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan 6 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in St. Michaels. Bishop Ray Benally will officiate. Burial will follow at the family plot in Red Lake, Ariz.

Upshaw died Jan. 3 in Gallup. He was born July 15, 1928 in Mexican Springs, N.M. into the Black Streak of the Forest People Clan for the Mexican People Clan.

Upshaw was a member of the Native American Church, where he was a roadman. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator at NECA until he retired. He enjoyed ranching and being with family. His hobbies included riding horses and rodeo, hunting and four-wheeling.

Survivors include his daughters Margie Dobson of Mapleton, Utah, Vinnie Thompson, Dorothy Mae Upshaw, Margaret Upshaw, Virginia Upshaw, all of Fort Defiance; sisters Jennie Nez of Fort Defiance and Nellie Begay of Rabbitbrush, N.M.; 23 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Bah Long; sons Jerry Stewart Upshaw and Hoskie Upshaw Jr.; brothers, Earl Upshaw, Haswood Upshaw and Naswood Upshaw.

Pallbearers will be Gil Arviso Jr., Jerry Nez, Jr., Sheldon Baldwin, Michael Dobson, Jerry Upshaw Jr., Chance Upshaw, Hoskie Nez, Jeremiah Thompson and Joshua Thompson.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


George Cinta

GRANTS — Memorial services for George A. Cinta, 73, will be at 5 p.m., today, Jan. 5, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Milan. Pastor Garland Moore will officiate.

Cinta died Jan. 2, in Grants. He was born June 20, 1933 in Veracruz, Mexico. He was a retired insurance salesman.

Survivors include his wife, Sheron Whitehead Cinta of Grants; children Laurie Harris of Van Alstyne, Texas, Michael R. Sims of Dallas, Texas, Richard A. Cinta of Houston, Texas and Carolina Cinta of Mexico City, Mexico; brothers Ricardo Cinta and Paca Cinta, both of Mexico City; sisters Elicia Chavez of Mexico City, Marcelia Saavedra of Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carlos M. Cinta and Maria Guzman Cinta and one brother Albert Cinta.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Charlie John

VANDERWAGEN — Services for Charlie Bia John, 74, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6 at Cope Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at the familyland in Mexican Springs.

John died Jan. 1 in Gallup. He was born Jan. 21, 1932 in Mexican Springs into the Black Streak Wood People Clan for the Salt People Clan.

John was employed with Union Pacific Railroad, and was a semi-truck driver and highway construction worker.

Survivors include wife, Bernice N. John of Vanderwagen; son, Chavis John of Coyote Canyon; daughters, Arlenda John of Coyote Canyon, Florence John of Coyote Canyon and Lucille John of Tucumcari; brother, Raymond Watchman of Fort Defiance; sister, Doris Benallie of Fort Defiance; five grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be family members.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Mexican Springs Chapter House after services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Donovan Woodman

WIDE RUINS — Services for Donovan Woodman, 18, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 6 at St. Ann's Catholic Mission in Klagetoh, Ariz. Brother Paul will officiate. Burial will follow at Wide Ruins Community Cemetery.

Woodman died Dec. 24 in Phoenix. He was born July 16, 1988 in Gallup into the Towering House People Clan for the Red Running Into the Water People Clan.

Woodman was a senior at Central High School in Phoenix and attended Ganado High School. While in school he attended student conferences in Washington D.C., Hawaii and San Diego, Calif. His hobbies included photography, being outdoors and traveling.

Survivors include father, Erman Woodman of Window Rock and mother, Donna Tishie of Sanders; brothers, Norman Tishie of Phoenix and Bradley Tishie of Wide Ruins; sisters, Mardesta Yellowhorse and Tonya Tishie, both of Phoenix.

Woodman was preceded in death by his brother, Bartley Tishie and grandmother, Mary Yellowhorse.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Wide Ruins Chapter House after services.

Jeremy Leyba

GALLUP — Services for Jeremy Leyba, 18, will be announced at a later date.

Leyba died Jan 4, in Phoenix. He was born May 16, 1988 in Gallup.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Eleanor Johnson

GRANTS — Services for Eleanor Johnson, 73, will be announced at a later date.

Johnson died Jan. 4 in Albuquerque. She was born Aug. 18, 1933.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
