Jean Johnson

CASAMERO LAKE — Services for Jean Johnson, 92, will be 10 a.m., Jan. 11, at the Borrego Pass Christian Church. Jimmie Atcitty will officiate. Burial will follow at Borrego Pass Community Cemetery.

Johnson died Jan. 4 in Gallup. She was born Aug. 15, 1914 in the Casamero Lake area into the Bitterwater People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Johnson attended Crownpoint Boarding School. She was employed as a foster grandparent at Borrego Pass Day Care for many years. Her hobbies and employment before her death were working as a silversmith and rug weaving.

Survivors include son, Jerry Bodie of Sanostee; daughter, Nellie Chavez of Casamero Lake; 17 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Johnson was preceded in death by her husband, John Johnson; sons, Anthony Bodie, Kee Bodie and Frankie Bodie; daughter, Martha Collins.

Pallbearers will be Shane Bodie, Leon Bodie, Shawn Bodie, Franklin Bodie, Eli Bodie and James Bodie.

Their will be a family meeting at 5 p.m., today, Jan. 9 at Nellie Chavez's resident.


Craig Silversmith

ST. MICHAELS — Services for Craig T. Silversmith, 38, will be 10 a.m. today, Jan. 9 at Chi'Hootso Church of Nazerene. Pastor Steven and Darlene Joe will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Michaels Public Cemetery.

Silversmith died Dec. 21 in Nueburg, N.Y. He was born Sept. 5, 1968 in Idaho Falls, Idaho into the Turkey People Clan for the Folded Arms People Clan.

Silversmith graduated from Gallup High School.

Survivors include father, Tom Silversmith of Coyote Canyon; brothers, Clyde Silversmith of Phoenix, Brian Tony of Colo., Bronson, Rocky and Stoney Tony, all of Gallup; sisters, Peggy Turk of Toledo, IA., Patricia Silversmith of Montana, Alberta, L. Estrada of Albuquerque, Natasha Tony of Jamestown, Gina Paquin and Jolene Tony, both of Gallup; grandmother, Ella Tracey of Gallup; foster father, Sherman Tony of Gallup; many nieces and nephews.

Silversmith was preceded in death by his mother, Adele M. Silversmith and grandfather, Tracy Tracey.

Pallbearers will be Henry, Andrew, Antonio, Eric and Patrick Estrada and Bronson Tony.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the St. Michaels Chapter House after services.

Silver Creek is in charge of arrangements.


JoAnn Cayaditto

The family of JoAnn Cayaditto has changed the date and time of services. Her services will be on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Thoreau. Burial will follow at the Thoreau community cemetery. Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Eddie Garcia Jr.

PREWITT — Services for Eddie Garcia Jr., 32, will be announced at a later date.

Garcia died Jan. 6 in Gallup. He was born April 16, 1974 in Gallup into the Mescalero Apache Clan for the Meadow People Clan.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
