Monte Holyan
IYANBITO Services for Monte Holyan Jr.,
43, will be 10 a.m. Jan. 16 at the Iyanbito Gospel Lighthouse.
Pastor Edward King will officiate. Burial will follow at Rehoboth
Cemetery.
Holyan died Jan. 11 in Phoenix. He was born July 13, 1963 in Gallup
into the Tree Clump People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.
Holyan attended Wingate Elementary School and schools in Heppner,
Ore. He also attended trade school in Telequah, Okla. and he was
a welder. His last employment was with ShuFF Steel in Phoenix.
Survivors include son, Nathaniel Johnson; father, Monte Holyan
Sr. of Tohatchi; brothers, Arkie R. Smith of Sanders, Valaddin
Charley of Cortez, Colo. and Bradley Charley of Crownpoint; sisters,
LaVaye Holyan-Padilla of Fort Wingate and NaVyena Holyan of Albuquerque.
Holyan was preceded in death by mother, Ruth A. Clinton, grandparents,
George and Sarah Clinton and Tom and Annie Holyan.
Pallbearers will be Leonard McReeves, Shawn McReeves, Lowery McReeves,
Darrell Silversmith, James Silversmith and Ronald Henry.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Iyanbito Gospel
Lighthouse after burial.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

GRANTS Funeral services for James Calvert,
84, are pending and will be announced at a later date.
Calvert died Sunday, Jan. 14 in Grants. He was born on Nov. 14,
1922 in Vinita, Okla.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
