Alice Smith
TWIN LAKES Services for Alice Smith,
106, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 18 at Cope Memorial Chapel.
Dennis Gardner will officiate. Burial will follow at Little Deer
Springs in Twin Lakes.
Smith died Jan. 11 in Gallup. She was born July 1, 1900 in Mexican
Springs into the Red Running into the Water People Clan for the
Weaver Zia People Clan.
Smith was a rancher and rug weaver. She loved to cook for family
and friends.
Survivors include sons, Tom Watchman of Twin Lakes, Billy Smith
of China Springs and Dennison Smith of John Day, Ore.; daughters,
Carolyn Jones of Twin Lakes and Alta Bahe of Gamerco; 47 grandchildren,
108 great-grandchildren and 32 great-great grandchildren.
Smith was preceded in death by her husband, James Smith; her son,
Woody Watchman; her daughters, Emma B. Lee and Helen Spencer;
her mother, Al'chie'nea Bah and her father, Old Man Bedoni; brothers,
George Watchman and Kee Watchman; sisters, White Lady Becenti
and Rena Bitsilly.
Pallbearers will be Lionel Bahe, David Tsinnijinnie, Spencer Yazzie,
Jerold Bahe, Mark Watchman and Herbert Yazzie.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Twin Lakes Chapter
House after services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Daniel Begay
FLAGSTAFF Services for Daniel D. Begay,
45, will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 at Flagstaff Indian Bible
Church, 10 West Cherry St. Burial will follow at Citizens Cemetery
in Flagstaff.
Begay died Jan. 7.
Survivors include sisters, Mary Lou Begay, Laura Cordova, Sarah
Begay and Grace Kieyoni; stepmother, Charlotte Jim; stepfather,
Monte Jim, Sr.; stepbrothers, Murray Jim, Monte Jim, Jr., Allen
Ray Jim and Lindy Jim; stepsisters, Mary Ann Nez, Ella Begay and
Elouise Jim; and many other family members.
Begay was preceded in death by his father, Keiyonnie Begay and
mother, Ruby Moore Jim; brothers, Stanley Begay and Earl "KY"
Begay.
Chee Bahe
CHINLE Services for Chee Bahe, 74, will
be 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18 at Our Lady of Fatima in Chinle.
Father Blane Grein, OFM, will officiate. Burial will follow at
the community cemetery in Chinle.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Chee died Jan. 14 in Chinle. He was born March 2, 1932 in Chinle
into the Edge Water People Clan for the Red Bottom People Clan.
Bahe was a lifetime rancher.
Survivors include wife, Hasbah Y. Bahe of Chinle; sons, Gary Bahe,
Norman Bahe,. Brian Bahe and Raymond Hoskie, all of Chinle, Earl
Bahe of Birdsprings, Ariz.; daughters, Ilene Curley of Pine Springs,
Marilyta Yazzie of Chinle and Isabelle Bahe of Flagstaff; sister,
Bah Tsosie of Chinle; 30 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Norman Bahe, Earl Bahe, Pernell Curley and
Matthew Smith.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
James Keller
ALBUQUERQUE Services for James "J.R."
Keller, 84, will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19 at Central United Methodist
Church, 1615 Copper Ave. NE. in Albuquerque. Entombment will follow
at Sunset Memorial Park in Albuquerque.
Visitation will be at French Mortuary 6 - 8 p.m., Thursday, Jan.
18 at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE in Albuquerque.
Keller died Jan. 15 in Roswell. He was born Aug. 29, 1922 in Marysville,
Kan.
Keller graduated from high school in Junction City, Kan. and served
in the Army Air Corps in the South Pacific during WWII. He was
a manager for Commonwealth Theaters for several years before moving
to Gallup and working at El Paso Natural Gas Co., for 27 years.
He was a fan and Lobo Booster, and a member of the Elks Club.
He enjoyed traveling and hunting.
Survivors include wife, Irene Keller; children, Enola Keller and
Jimmie Roybal, both of Albuquerque, Jolene Goins of Roswell; sister,
Maxine Keller of Junction City, Kan.; nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren
and one great-great grandchild.
Keller was preceded in death by parents, August and Ethelyn Keller;
sister, Rexine Brown, and one grandchild.
Eddie Bustos
ALBUQUERQUE Services for Eddie Adam Bustos,
91, will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan 19 at Sacred Heart Cathedral
in Gallup. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Gallup.
Bustos died Jan 10 in Albuquerque. He was born Aug. 30, 1915,
in San Antonio, N.M.
Bustos served in the Navy during World War II. He worked for the
Santa Fe Railroad for over 40 years. His hobbies included cooking
and being artistic.
Survivors include his sons Edward Bustos of Albuquerque; daughters
Bebe Granados of Poway, Calif., and Kathy Garcia of Albuquerque;
four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Bustos was preceded in death by his wife Irene Bustos.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Idaho Court #3
after services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Association
of New Mexico.
Jennie Desiderio
HAYSTACK, N.M. Services for Jennie Desiderio,
80, will be announced at a later date.
Desiderio died Jan. 15 in Crownpoint. She was born Dec. 25, 1926
in Haystack.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
