Nelson Charley, Jr.
CHINLE Services for Nelson Charley, Jr.,
39, will be 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19 at the Canyon Family Church
in Chinle. Pastor Ron Rajca will officiate. Burial will follow
at the Community Cemetery in Black Mountain, Ariz.
Charley died Jan. 15 in Casa Grande, Ariz. He was born Feb. 16,
1967 in Ganado into the Salt People Clan for the Red Running Into
the Water People Clan.
Charley attended Chinle Jr. High School, Mesa High School, graduating
from Phoenix Indian School in 1985, Phoenix College in 1986, Din
College in Tsaile and a year in AA Clerical. His hobbies include
drawing, listening to music, being in a band, traveling, going
shopping and visiting friends.
Survivors include parents, Nelson Charley, Sr. and Ruby Charley;
brothers, Gerald Charley, Darren Charley and Donovan Charley;
sister, Tera Charley; and his grandfather, Bobby Charley, Sr.
Charley was preceded in death by his grandparents, Isabelle H.
Charley, Susie Charles and Lyman Charles; brother, Delbert G.
Charley.
Pallbearers will be Gerald V. Charley, Darren Charley, Donovan
Charley, Edison Charley, Jameson Charley and Jaston Charley.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Cottonwood Chapter
House after burial.
Tse Bonito Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Dalton Yazzie
PREWITT Services for Dalton Dan Yazzie,
8 months, will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 19 at the Thoreau First
Baptist Church in Thoreau. Pastor Mark Thomas will officiate.
Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Park.
Yazzie died Jan. 14 in Gallup. He was born April 27, 2006 into
the Salt People Clan for the Bitter Water People Clan.
Survivors include his mother Christina Jones, father Dennis Dan
Yazzie Sr., of Thoreau; brothers Deion Welletto, Dennis Dan Yazzie
jr., both of Prewitt and DeVaylon Dan Yazzie of Thoreau; sisters
Danielle Welletto and Daltina Welletto, both of Prewitt; Dabrielle
Lynn Yazzie from Grants; grandparents Bobby and Marie Jones of
Prewitt, Beth Miller of Thoreau and Danny Yazzie of Prewitt.
Pallbearers will be Armando Galvan, Jake Miller, Herbert Delgarito
and Shawn Martinez.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Thoreau Chapter
House after services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
