Fireworks Fire: ABOVE:
Williams Acres resident Brian O'Dell uses a hoe to battle flames
Monday while a fire truck arrives on the scene of a brush fire
that was ignited by fireworks southeast of the intersection
of New Mexico Highway 118 and Williams Acres Road. O'Dell said
he was home watching television when he heard people yelling
"fire" and he ran outside and across the road to help try and

west of Gallup. Area residents battled the blze with shovels,
hoes and buckets until fire fighters arrived to douse the flames
that charred approximately two acres but did not damage any

Dayton Stafford finds space to escape the heat after the morning
