Thomas Fordyce

GALLUP — Graveside services for Thomas Fordyce, 51 will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16 at the Gallup City Cemetery. Andrew Butler will officiate.

Fordyce died July 10, 2007 in Gallup. He was born October 6, 1955 in Raton, NM.

Fordyce attended high school in Taos Pueblo, NM. He was an auto mechanic and appliance repairman. He loved to travel the southwest making and visiting friends, fixing vehicles and appliances. He loved Cadillac's, classic rock-n-roll music, coffee, cigarettes, talking and joking. He was adopted into the Lakota Sioux Tribe, given the name "Little Soldier".

Survivors include his sister of Farmington.

Fordyce was preceded in death by his parents, M.T. and Marie Fordyce

Pallbearers will be Pat Rosendall, Andrew Butler, Adele Charger, and David McCright.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Laura Joe

DEER SPRING, Ariz. — Funeral services for Laura Mae Joe, 49, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 16 at Assembly of God Church in Fort Defiance. Burial will follow on the family gravesite in Deer Spring.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 14, at Tse Bonito Mortuary.

Joe died July 9, 2007 in Buells Park, Ariz. She was born Oct. 20, 1958 in Fort Defiance into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.

Joe graduated from Many Farms High School in 1977 and Bryan College in Phoenix. She was employed as a medical assistant in Phoenix and as a case manager with NIDCH in Phoenix. Her hobbies are cooking, working with horses and sheep and caring for other animals.

Survivors include her husband Curtis Joe; sons, Ryan C. Joe, Courtney Joe, and C.J. Joe; daughter, Lauren Marie Curtis Joe; mother, Bessie Shirley of Deer Spring; brothers, Harold Shirley of Flagstaff, Peter Shirley of Yakima, Wash., Patterson Shirley of Gallup, Patrick Shirley of Deer Spring, Percy Shirley of Deer Spring, and Petersen Shirley of Vancouver, Wash.; sister, Paula Shirley-Nakai of Fort Defiance.

Joe was preceded in death by her father, Paul Shirley, Sr.; grandparents, Juan and Mary Shirley; and brother, Paul Shirley, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Ryan C. Joe, Courtney Joe, C.J. Joe, Kyle Max, Peter Shirley, and Petersen Shirley.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Bessie Shirley's residence after services.

Tse Bonito is in charge of arrangements.


Josh Bellson

ZUNI — A traditional wake for Josh Bellson, 24, will be on Saturday, July 14 at the family home in Zuni. Burial will follow in Quincy Panteah Memorial Cemetery in Zuni.

Bellson died July 12, 2007 in Zuni. He was born June 24, 1983 in Gallup.

Bellson received his GED in 2002. He was a member of Lions Club of Rio Rancho and the Zia Hotshots. Bellson assisted in the documentary on wheelchair basketball. His hobbies included basketball, fishing, and spending time helping others and family.

Survivors include his parents, Verna Booqua of Zuni; brothers, Farrin Bellson of Zuni and Darrin Bellson of Vanderwagen; sisters, Tiffany Booqua and Amy Booqua, both of Zuni, Natasha Torres and Crystle Montao, both of Gallup.

Bellson was preceded in death by Amos Johnson, Betty Jane Chuyate, Amy Chuyate, Bessy Laconsello, and Elizabeth Martinez.

Pallbearers will be Dale Booqua, Stanford Chuyate, Terry Leonard, Lyndon Nashboo, and Eric Ponchvella.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the family home after services.


Robin Gaddis

GRANTS — Services for Robin M. Gaddis, 60, will be announced at a later date.

Gaddis died July 13, 2007 in Grants. She was born July 28, 1946 in Scottsbluff, Neb.
