Michael Hoffman is silhouetted by the lights from a fire engine
while smoke billows out of the McKinley County Transfer Station
off Hassler Valley Road on Thursday night. A general fire alarm
drew Gallup Fire, McKinley West, and Whitecliffs Fire Departments
to the transfer station. It is currently unknown what started
the fire but it was possibly someone who threw out smoldering
ashes in the garbage, lighting the large trash fire at the Transfer
Station. [Photo by Matt Hinshaw/Independent] |
