Clayton Benally

LITTLEWATER, NM — Funeral services for Clayton Randy Benally, 46, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14, at Rollie Mortuary. Reverend George Jim will officiate. Burial will follow at the Gallup City Cemetery.

Benally died June 9, in Gallup. Se was born Nov. 13, 1960 in Crownpoint into the Tangle People Clan for the Folded Arms People Clan.

Benally graduated from Crownpoint High School. He was a former Navajo Nation Police Officer and a construction officer. Benally liked to travel, play guitar, write, and listen to music.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn Walker of Adrian, Mich.; son, Brandon Jones Benally of Window Rock; daughters, Torri Leigh Benally of Silver City, NM, and Nikki Benally of Phoenix; brother, Wade Benally of Littlewater; sisters, Evelyn Litsuie, Rita Largo, and Linda Brown all of Littlewater, and Loretta Benally of Coyote Canyon; grandmother, Alice Willy.

Benally was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Benally and Jones Benally; brother, Harrison Benally; sister, Etta Benally.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Litsuie, Marquiz Litsuie, Benjamin Benally, Jerry Antonio, Tyrell Benally, and Gary Largo.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Community Room in the Rio West Mall.


Reuben Nez, Sr.

TSAILE, Ariz. — Funeral services for Rueben N. Nez, Sr., 86, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 14 at St. Isabel Catholic Church in Lukachukai. Father Blaine will officiate. Burial will follow at Veteran Cemetery in Lukachukai.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. today, June 13 at Tse Bonito Mortuary.

Nez, Sr. died June 10, in Tsaile. He was born Dec. 25, 1921 in Del Muerto, Ariz. into the Salt People Clan for the Towering House People Clan.

Nez, Sr. was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Army. He was also a farmer, rancher and was well known throughout the community.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Rose Nez; sons, Raymond Nez and Reuben Nez, Jr.,; stepsons, Freddie Yazzie and Daniel Kiyanni; daughter, Lorraine Begay; brothers, Kee Nez, Tulley Haudley, and Rudy Nez; 27 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.

Nez, Sr. was preceded in death by his son, Robert Tom Nez; sister, Rose Begay.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Nez, Reuben Nez, Tulley Haudley, Garrison Nez, Almonteo Begay, Stanfford Nez, and Marvin Tsosie.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Nez residence, 1 miles NW of Wheatfields Chapter House.

Tse Bonito is in charge of arrangements.


Harry Morgan

GALLUP — Services for Harry Morgan, 61, will be announced at a later date.

Morgan died June 12, 2007 in Gallup. He was born June 9, 1946 in Manuelito into the Black Sheep People Clan for the Waters Edge People Clan.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
