Bennie Chee Sr.
GANADO Services for Bennie Chee Sr.,
80, will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 3 at Cornfields Lighthouse
Church in Ganado. Evangelist Edison Belin will officiate. Burial
will follow at Ganado Cemetery.
Chee died Feb. 27 in Gallup. He was born July 22, 1926 in Ganado.
Survivors include his sons Oliver Chee, Edmund Chee, Bennett Chee;
daughters Mary Louise Chee, Ruth Evans; brothers Herbert Chee,
Jerry Chee; sister Elizabeth Louis; 12 grandchildren and nine
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Franklin and Hasbah Chee;
son Bennie Chee Jr., and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Ivan Chee, Orvis Chee, Bob Evans, Alvin Chee,
Oliver Chee and Orville Chee.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Oliver and Shirley
Chee's residence, 5.5 miles south of Ganado, following services.
Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
George Bitah
GANADO Services for George Bitah, 89,
will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, March 3 at Indian Western Ministries.
Evangelists Thomas and Margaret Bill will officiate. Burial will
follow in the community cemetery in St. Michaels.
Bitah died Feb. 27 in Gallup. He was born Oct. 4, 1917 in Ganado.
Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Bitah of Gallup; son, Donald
Bitah of Farmington; daughters Marietta Armstrong, Irene Bitah,
both of Phoenix, Jurista Bitah of Blackhat, N.M., Rose Bitah of
Window Rock, Rosely Bitah of Gallup, Janet C. Etcitty of Chicago,
Delores Sombrero of Tuba City; brother Tommy Nelson Sr., of Blackhat;
26 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Hastiin Yazhi Bitah, Alth;ka-abah
Bitah; sons Arnold Bitah, Edward Bitah, James Bitah; sisters Mary
Douglas, Maybelle Yazzie; brother Nelson John.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Christine Yazzie
TOHLAKAI Services for Christine
Yazzie, 51, will be 10 a.m. March 3 at Rollie Mortuary. Kristen
Pikaart, will officiate.
Yazzie died Feb. 28 in Gallup. She was born Feb. 18, 1956 in Fort
Defiance into the Meadow People Clan for the Bitter Water People
Clan.
Survivors include sons, Tony Curtis, Jr. and Richard Frank, Jr.,
both of Gallup; daughter, Racheal Frank of Gallup; parents, JoAnn
and George Yazzie, Sr., both of Tohlakai; brothers, Thomas, Benson,
Ronald, George, Jr. and Calvin Yazzie, all of Tohlakai; sisters,
Katherine Frank and Judy Lynn Yazzie, both of Tohlakai; three
grandchildren.
Yazzie was preceded in death by Frank and Helen Yazzie.
Pallbearers will be Thomas G. Yazzie, Taylor G. Yazzie, Marvin
Yazzie, Stanfred Yazzie, Rick Frank and Jordan Frank.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Correction
TOHATCHI - An obituary in
Thursday's edition for Nicholas Hale has been changed by the family.
The pallbearers will be Gabriel Gibson and Joshua Gibson.
The services will be held at Cope Memorial Chapel on Saturday at
10 a.m. Burial will follow at the Tohatchi Community Cemetery.
