Adelina Marquez

GRANTS — Services for Adelina "Della" Marquez, 72, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10 at St. Teresa de Avila Catholic Church in Grants. Burial will follow at Grants Memorial Cemetery. Father Alberto Avella will be the celebrant.

A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. today, March 9 at St. Teresa de Avila Catholic Church in Grants.

Marquez died March 6 in Grants. She was born Aug. 1, 1934 in San Rafael.

Survivors include husband, Florencio Marquez; children, Toni Montano, Clarence Marquez, Edward Marquez and Melinda Salazar; seven siblings, Mary Olguin, Eloisa Valdez, Peggy Valdez, Aurelio Apodaca, Frankie Apodaca, Ralph Apodaca and Emma Archuleta; many more family members; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Adrian Marquez, Ray Garza, Jose Vigil, Abel Lueras, Francisco Hidalgo, Julian Salazar and Anthony Chavez.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Rynell Tayah

GALLUP — Services for Rynell L. Tayah, 21, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10 at Rollie Mortuary Palm Chapel. Sister Sarah Begay will officiate. Burial will follow at Lone Pine Cemetery in Mexican Springs.

Tayah died March 6 in Gallup. He was born May 12, 1985 in Gallup into the Red Running Into the Water People Clan for the Sleeping Rock People Clan.

Tayah attended Mexican Springs Head Start, Tohatchi Elementary, Tohatchi Mid School, Tohatchi High School and graduated from Gallup Central High School in 2005. He played football at Tohatchi High. His hobbies included drawing, playing video games, playing the guitar and being with his family.

Survivors include mother, Brenda L. Tyah, father, Thomas Kellywood, stepfather, Arnold Wilson; brothers, Arlin Wilson, stepbrothers, Zachery Kellywood and Vince T.V. Kellywood; sisters, Tammy Jim, Alicia Wilson, Rachel Wilson, Amanda Wilson and stepsister, Tiffany Kellywood; grandparents, Robert Tayah and Alice Kellywood.

Tayah was preceded in death by Johnny Wilson, Alice Kellywood, Johnny Kellywood, Elta Stevens, Haswood Upshaw and Charley A. Johnson.

Pallbearers will be John Willie, Michael Suazo, Cruz Benally, Rocky Tony, Arlin Wilson and Roman Skeets.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Mexican Springs Chapter House after services.

Jefferson Begay

PINON, Ariz. — Services for Jefferson Bahe Begay, 47, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, March 10 at St. Mary's of the Rosary Church in Pinon. Father Blane Grein, OFM,will officiate. Burial will follow at the family land in Burnt Corn Valley, Ariz.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Begay died March 5 in Whipporwill, Ariz. He was born June 5, 1959 in Burnt Corn Valley, Ariz. into the Tangle People Clan for the Coyote Pass People Clan.

Begay attended Pinon Boarding School and Chinle Boarding School. He was employed with Peabody Coal Mine and was self-employed, working with arts and crafts.

Survivors include sons, Jerrison Begay of Iraq and Bryant Lee Begay of Pinon; daughter, Carlinda Begay of Flagstaff; mother, Alice Bahe of Pinon; sisters, Lita Williams, Imogene Bahe and Annette Bahe, all of Pinon and Janet Benally of Leupp, Ariz.; seven grandchildren.

Begay was preceded in death by his father, Charley Bahe, brothers, Thomas Begay, Thomas Montoya and Matais Begay, sister, Beatrice Begay; grandparents, Ason Zhunnie Begay and Clah Nez Begay.

Pallbearers will be Bryant Begay, Fernando Montoya, Jasper Williams, Felix Begay, Emmanuel William and Benjamin Begay.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Alice Bahe's residence, 13 miles NE of the Pinon Basha's grocery store.

Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Beverly Peterson

ALBUQUERQUE — Services for Beverly Ann Peterson, 54, will be at 5 p.m., Saturday, March 10 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses at 6501 Palomas NE.

Peterson died March 4. She was born July 13, 1952 in Gallup. She was a graduate of Gallup High School and UNM. Survivors include her husband Dale Petson; daughters Kristina Creek, Jessica Jeffery; son Carl Peterson; parents Chris and Jennie Lee DiGregorio; Chris DeGregorio; brother Michael DiGregorio, Carmen DiGregorio; and five grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother Chris Patrick DiGregorio.


Christiane Nassan

GALLUP — Services for Christiane Jeanne Nassan, 81, will be announced at a later date.

Nassan died March 8 in Gallup. She was born April 11, 1925.

Lyndon Johnson

SMITH LAKE — Services for Lyndon Oscar Johnson, 33, will be announced at a later date.

Johnson died March 4 in Gallup. He was born Nov. 14, 1973 in Fort Defiance into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.

Robert Welch

GALLUP — Services for Robert J. Welch, 89, will be announced at a later date.

Welch died March 7 in Gallup. He was born Sept. 29, 1917 in Farmington.
