Petalida Gorman
STEAMBOAT, Ariz. Services for Petalida
"Pet" Yazzie-Gorman, 48, will be 10 a.m. today, March
13 at All Saints Mission in Ganado. Father Flann O'Neil, OFM will
officiate.
Gorman died March 9 in Flagstaff. She was born Jan. 10, 1959 in
Steamboat into the Edge Water People Clan for the Black Streaked
Forest People Clan.
Gorman attended Ganado Public Schools. She was a homemaker. Her
hobbies included being outdoors, traveling and being with her
grandkids.
Survivors include sons, Pedro Gorman, Pedric Gorman and Arthur
Bennett; daughters, Petrine Gorman of Albuquerque and Alana Frank
of Gallup; brothers, Tex Yazzie, Mourice Yazzie, Martinez Yazzie
and Arthur Yazzie, Jr., all of Steamboat; sisters, Della Benally
of Chinle and Carmenlita Yazzie of Steamboat; seven grandchildren.
Gorman was preceded in death by her husband Paul Gorman; her parents,
Arthur and Mary Yazzie; her brother, Rex Yazzie; her sister, Vickie
Cowboy.
Pallbearers will be Pedro Gorman, Pedric Gorman, Arthur Yazzie,
Jr., Jerrold Benally, Jerrick Benally, Ray Jack, Jerrin Benally
and Jerry Benally, Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Tex Yazzie's
residence in Steamboat after services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Mavourneen Horrocks
GALLUP Memorial services for Mavourneen
E. Horrocks, 84, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 14 at East Aztec
Baptist Church in Gallup. Gene Turk will officiate.
Horrocks died March 10 in Grants. She was born Dec. 3, 1922 in
Ringgold, La.
Horrocks attended business school in San Antonio, Texas. She was
employed with the BIA and Gallup McKinley County Public Schools.
She was a homemaker and volunteered for McKinley General Hospital
as a Pink Lady.
Survivors include her husband, John (Jake) Horrocks; sons, John
Horrocks of Arvada, Colo., James Horrocks of Gallup and Richard
Horrocks of Glendale, Ariz.
The family will meet at East Aztec Baptist Church following services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Luis Jose Chavez
GRANTS Services for Luis Jose Chavez,
75, will be announced at a later date.
Chavez died March 12 in Grants. He was born on June 27, 1931 in
Juan Thomas, N.M.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
