Donating to the Cause: Gretchen Valencia, assistant Donor Care supervisor, searches for a vein to draw blood from Brianna Begay on Wednesday afternoon inside one of the two blood donation buses parked at the Gal A Bowl bowling alley. Begay traveled from Albuquerque to donate blood for her fourth time. The blood drive honors Gallup resident Willie Knight, who is suffering from a rare form of cancer. The blood drive continues today from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at RMCH inside the third-floor solarium. [Photo by Matt Hinshaw/Independent]
