Melva Daugherty
THOREAU Services for Melva F. Daugherty,
68, will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 23 at the First Baptist
Church in Thoreau. Pastor Stan Daugherty will officiate. Burial
will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gallup.
Daugherty died March 19 in Gallup. She was born May 14, 1938 in
Tucumcari.
Survivors include her children Stan Daugherty, Steve Daugherty,
both of Gallup, Scott Daugherty of Thoreau; nine grandchildren
and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Daugherty; parents
Milton and Nellie Johnston and one sister Lanell Roberts.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Walsh, Jeremy Daugherty, Dean Roberts,
Mikey Roberts, Bill Powers, Lance Sharp and Steve Dietz.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Tom McCabe Jr.
TUBA CITY, Ariz. Funeral services and
visitation for Tom "T.J." McCabe Jr., 43, will be at
9 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at the L.D.S. church west of the old
trading post. Burial will follow at Tuba City Cemetery.
McCabe died Sunday, March 18, in Phoenix. He was born Nov. 12,
1963 in Burley, Idaho into the Bitter Water People Clan and for
the Rock Gap People Clan.
McCabe is survived by his wife, Joanna Kaye McCabe; son, Michael
McCabe; father, Tom McCabe Sr. of Brimhall; grandmothers, Rena
McCabe and Marie Baldwin; brothers, Bryan McCabe, Aaron McCabe
and Byron McCabe; sisters, Sheila Wong and Melody Lynn Billy.
McCabe was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Baldwin; grandfathers,
Roman McCabe and Lloyd Baldwin.
The family will receive relatives and friends at OMH # 34, Peshlakai
Ave.
Anthony Thomas
NASCHITTI, Ariz. Funeral services for
Anthony Thomas, 40, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 23, at the
Church of Latter Day Saints in Sheepsprings, N.M. Milton Watts,
branch president, will officiate. Burial will be in Naschitti
Community Cemetery.
Thomas died Sunday, March 18, in Naschitti. He was born Aug. 24,
1966 in Albuquerque into the Towering House People Clan and for
the Folded Arms People Clan.
Thomas was a graduate of Tohatchi High School. He had worked for
Navajo Tribal Clothing, Grandpa's Grill and Big Cheese Pizza.
He received a Parent of the Year Award for Naschitti Head Start.
He enjoyed cooking, basketball, football, softball, walking, hiking,
horseback riding, woodworking, bingo and horseshoes.
Thomas is survived by his sons, Leander Thomas of Spencer Valley,
N.M., Loren Lyle Thomas, Lavon Lyle Thomas and Lydale Lyle Thomas,
all of Twin Lakes, N.M.; daughter, Lorene Lynn Thomas of Naschitti;
brothers, Alex Thomas and Ashley Thomas of Naschitti, Arnold Thomas
of Farmington, Jeffery Thomas and Travis Thomas of Tohlakai, N.M.
and Elton Thomas of Gallup; sisters, Vernice Thomas of Toadlena,
N.M., Vera M. Yazzie, Darlene Thomas and Dorene Thomas of Naschitti,
Vivian Todachinnie of Montezuma Creek, Utah and Deanette T. Almanza
of Delta, Utah.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, John L. Thomas; mother,
Mabel W. Thomas; sister, Denise Thomas.
Pallbearers will be Jeffery Thomas, Elton Thomas, Narcisse A.
Thomas, Loren Lyle Thomas, Travis Thomas and Victor Slivers Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Dorene Thomas
residence. The family will meet at the Naschitti Chapter House
Friday, March 23.
Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
Sarah Billie
RED ROCK, N.M. Services for Sarah Billy, 82,
will be at 10 a.m., Friday, March 23 at Cope Memorial in Gallup.
Sister Terry will officiate. Burial will follow in the Gallup
City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m., today, March 22 at Cope Memorial
Chapel.
Billy died March 19 in Farmington. She was born Aug. 10, 1924
in Red Rock into the Black Streak Forest People Clan for the Meadow
People Clan.
Billy was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband John Billy of Red Rock; sons Harvey
Benson of Los Lunas, N.M., James Billy of Haystack, N.M., Louis
Benson, Harrison Billy, both of Red Rock; daughters Marita Lee
of Waterflow, N.M., Margie Billy and Marlene Billy, both of Red
Rock; brothers Johnny Morgan of Red Rock, Dennis Morgan of Haystack,
Curtis Morgan of Albuquerque; sisters Julia Tom, Alice Begaye,
Ester Eskeets, all of Red Rock; 18 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joe and Bah Morgan; brothers
Thomas, Willie and John Morgan; children Mary Benson, Ervin Billy.
Pallbearers will be Jimson Billy, Julius Billy, Jaymes Billy Jr.,
Charles Begaye Jr., and Ferlin Yonnie.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Red Rock
Chapter House following services.

COYOTE CANYON, N.M. Services for Tom
Hovel, 81, will be announced at a later date.
Hovel died March 21 in Gallup. He was born March 11, 1926 in Rehoboth
into the Bitter Water People Clan for the Zuni People Clan.
Rollie Mortuary is in chage of arrangements.
Cody Tso
HOUCK, Ariz. Services for Cody Fred Tso,
30, will be announced at a later date.
Tso died March 18 in Houck. He was born Feb. 6, 1977 into the
One Who Walks Around People Clan for the Saline Water People Clan.
There will be a visitation at Rollie Mortuary from noon-3 p.m.,
Friday, March 23.
