Jeanette Barney

MEXICAN SPRINGS — Funeral services for Jeanette K. Barney, 88, will be at 10 a.m., today, March 28, at Cope Memorial Chapel. Rev. Jerry C. Eastridge will officiate. Burial will be in the Lone Pine Cemetery in Mexican Springs.

Barney died March 22 in Gallup. She was born May 2, 1918 in Mexican Springs into the Red Running into the Water People Clan for the Red House People Clan.

Barney was a lifelong resident of Mexican Springs and was involved with the Mexican Springs senior citizens. She was employed with the Navajo Nation C.E.T.A. As a young girl she was a rancher. During the last few years Barney was a resident of Red Rock Care Center.

She is survived by her brother, Henry Kinlicheenie; sister, Glenabah Hoskie; 20 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchidlren.

Barney was preceded in death by her husband John Bean Barney, Sr.; father, Kinlicheenie Jones; mother, Mae Catron Kinlicheenie; brothers, Frank Catron, Tommy Catron; sisters, Sally Draper Bailey, Nettie Morris, Mabel Billie, Elsie Nelson and Rachel Redhouse.

Pallbearers will be Alvin Morris, Darryl Morris, Ssgt USMS Eric Morris, A1C USAF Chris H. Morris, Elderick Morris and Melvin Chavez.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Mexican Springs Chapter House.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Timmy Jaramillo Sr.

GRANTS — Funeral mass for Eutimo "Timmy" Jaramillo, Sr., 61, will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 29 at the St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the San Rafael community cemetery. Father Alberto Avella will officiate.

A rosary will be recited this evening, March 28 at 7 p.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Jaramillo was born on Sept. 28, 1945 in San Rafael. He died March 25 in Grants.

Jaramillo was employed with Continental Divide Electric Co-Op for 38 years. He enjoyed hunting, camping, working on classic cars and his Harley.

Survivors include his wife, Tina Jaramillo of Grants; children Timmy Jaramillo Jr., Elisa Jaramillo, Jessica Jaramillo, all of Grants; sisters Domie Chavez, Geraldine Chavez; brothers Corisino Jaramillo of San Rafael; five grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents Patrocino and Tomisita Jaramillo; brother Marlin Jaramillo; sister Jennie Montano.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Jaramillo Jr., Carlos Chavez, Manual Montano, Lalo Chavez, Cary Jaramillo and Timothy Jaramillo.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Nancy Natonabah

GALLUP — Services for Nancy Natonabah, 51, will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 29 at the Good Shepard Mission in Fort Defiance. Pastor Steven Redd will officiate. Burial will follow in Coal Mine, N.M.

Natonabah died March 23 in Gallup. She was born Nov. 30, 1955 in Coal Mine, into the Red Running into The Water People Clan for the Tangle People Clan.

Natonabah attended Window Rock High School and graduated from St. Michaels High School. She worked at Navajo Communications for 10 years. Her hobbies included playing sports, basketball, volleyball and softball, meeting and helping people.

Survivors include her sons Justin, Kirk and Robert Russell, all of Gallup; daughters Monica Russell of Gallup; brothers James, Peter, Joe, Larry, Dennis, Gilbert Natonabah; sisters Ida Natonabah Mark, Margie Natonabah, Katherine Natonabah Smith.

She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard Natonabah, Mary Natonabah; grandparents Sadie Mark and Michael Francisco.

Pallbearers will be Peter Natonabah, Joe Natonabah, Larry Natonabah, Dennis Natonabah, Gilbert Natonabah and Derek Natonabah.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Good Shepart Mission after services.

Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Gary Morris

GALLUP — Services for Gary Morris, 34, will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 29 at the Christian Reformed Church in Rehoboth. Armond Martinez will officiate. Burial will follow in Rehoboth Cemetery.

Morris died March 25 in Gallup. He was born Sept, 3, 1972 in Fort Defiance into the Salt People Clan for the Near the Water People Clan.

Morris attended Hilltop Christian School, Window Rock High School and ITT in Phoenix. He was self-employed as a construction worker and his hobbies included doing mechanics work and basketball.

Survivors include his parents Rena Morris, Alfred Morris; brothers Brennan A. Morris, Reid Morris, Aaron Morris, Casey Morris; sisters Nadine Morris, Raylene Morris; grandmother Malissa K. Gleason.

He was preceded in death by Lucy and Thomas Morris and Jimmie Gleason.

Pallbearers will be Reid Morris, Calvin Gleason, Mike Nelson, David Belone, Raymond Morris Jr., Richard Gleason, Dale Briggss Jr., Brennan A. Morris, Jim Gleason and Ron Gleason Jr.

The family will receive relatives and friends at 2808 Chamisal St. #41 in Gallup after services.

Sam Peralto Jr

LOW MOUNTAIN, AZ — Graveside services for Sam T. Peralto Jr, 44, will be 10 a.m., Friday, March 30. Burial will follow at the Jeddito Community Cemetary. Visitation will be Thursday, March 29 at Greers Mortuary, in Winslow.

Peralto Jr. died March 24 in Flagstaff. He was born April 15, 1963 in Dallas, Texas into the Towering House People Clan for the Red Bottom People Clan.

Peralto Jr. graduated from Many Farms High School in 1982 and attended Bacone College. His hobbies included watching TV and visiting relatives.

Survivors include his sons Sheridan, Sherwin, Shannon all of Rock Point, Ariz.; daughters Shaniah and Shalyn both of Low Mountain, and Samantha of Tuscon; Parents Katie Mike of Low Mountain and Sam Peralto of Prewitt; Brothers Tom Peralto of Forest Lake, Simon Peralto of Phoenix, and Everett Tachine of Low Mountain; Sisters Katherine Peralto, Kim Peralto-Gee both of Low Mountain, Kathleen Peralto of Cow Springs and Kathy Martine of Albuquerque.

Peralto was preceded in death by his grandfather Johnny Ben.

A family meeting will be 6 p.m. at the Din Wesleyan Church in Low Mountain, which is located 1/4 N.W. of Low Mountain Chapter nightly.


Willie Tsosie

RED LAKE — Funeral services for Willie B. Tsosie, 69 will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 29 at the Navajo Baptist Church in Navajo, N.M. Pastor Roscoe Smith will officiate. Burial will follow on family land in Navajo.

Tsosie died March 24 in Gallup. He was born May 25, 1937 in Fort Defiance into the Hairy Ones People Clan born for the Red Running into the Water People Clan.

Tsosie retired in 1997 from the Navajo Sanitation in Window Rock. He enjoyed farming, traveling, and being with family and grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife Lena Ann Tsosie of Red Lake; sons Anthony Tsosie, Vernon Tsosie both of Red Lake, Timoth Tsosie of Pinon, and Richard Tsosie of Phoenix; Daughters Rena Tsosie, Arlinda Wauneka, Carlinda Wauneka all of Red Lake, Linda Tsosie of Chandler; Brothers Vincent Tsosie, James Tsosie, Thomas Tsosie all of Red Lake, and Leonard Tsosie of Saint Michaels; sister Lena Tsosie of California.

Tsosie was preceded in death by his son Andrew Tsosie and his parents.

Pallbearers will be James B. Tsosie, Vincent B. Tsosie, Thomas Tsosie, Veto B. Tsosie, and Johnson Y. Beach.

A reception will be held at the Navajo Recreation Center following the burial.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.


Jeremy John

WINDOW ROCK — Services for Jeremy Dave John, 35, will be announced at a later date.

John died March 25 in Holbrook. He was born July 12, 1971 in Gallup.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.


Marie Antonio-Harlan Slim

CROWNPOINT — Services for Marie Antonio-Harlan Slim, 96, will be announced at a later date.

Slim died Tuesday, March 27 in Gallup. She was born Nov. 28, 1910 in Crownpoint into the Towering House People Clan born for the Over Hanging Rock People Clan.

Esther Ott

GALLUP — Services for Esther Ott, 91 will be announced at a later date.

Ott died on March 27 in Gallup. She was born October 1, 1915.
