William Knight
GALLUP Memorial services for William
"Willie" L. Knight, 19, will be at 1 p.m. May 9, at
the Gallup Catholic High School Gym. The Very Rev. James E. Walker,
V.G. will officiate.
Knight died May 4, in Gallup. He was born June 11, 1987 in Albuquerque.
Knight graduated from Gallup Catholic High School. He was employed
at the Gal-A-Bowl and was a member of the Gallup USBC. Knight
received numerous bowling awards and had many accomplishments.
He enjoyed being around people and helping others.
Survivors include his parents, Bill and Cindy Knight of Gallup;
sister Jennifer Knight of Gallup; grandparents, Frank and Shirley
Nechero of Gallup, and Elaine Knight of Gallup.
Knight was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Bill Knight,
Sr. and Arnie Kilpatrick.

Maunelle Belles
LONOKE, Ark. Dr. Maunelle Waggoner Martin
Belles, 87, died April 29. She was born October 29, 1919 in Lonoke,
Ark.
Belles recieved her Bachelors Degree in Social Science from Arkansas
State Teachers College and her Masters Degree in Education Administration
from the University of Arizona. During WWII, she was a female
parts inspector for an aircraft factory. In 1957, she moved to
Fort Defiance and she taught Latin, Speech, Drama, Engilsh, Math
and formed the National Thespian Society. Belles obtained her
Doctorate in Education from ASU. She taught for 20 years at Mesa
Community College and was chosen as Teacher of the Year. She served
as President of the Arizona Classroom Teachers Association and
the National Education Association Committees. Belles was awarded
ACT's Outstanding Contribution in Education Award and spent two
months in Egypt on an advisory panel.
Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Martin Rikel, stepsons,
Mark David Belles, Mitchell Walker Belles, and Steven Patrick
Belles; stepdaughter, Carol Williams; sister, Betty Mitchell;
and one grandson.
At the family's request, there will be no services. Donations
can be made to the Dr. Maunelle Martin Memorial, Maricopa Colleges
Foundation c/o MCC Deb Devore 1833 W. Southern Avenue, Mesa Ariz.

David Yazzie, Jr.
KLAGETOH Funeral services for David Yazzie,
Jr., 39, will be at 10 a.m. today, at St. Anne's Catholic Mission
in Klagetoh. Father Flanagan will officiate. Burial will follow
in Klagetoh Community Cemetery.
Yazzie died May 3, in Fort Defiance. He was born July 14, 1967,
in Gallup into the Towering House Clan for the Cliff Dwellers
Clan.
Yazzie attended the University of Texas in El Paso, Navajo Community
College in Tsaile, and graduated from the Marana Police Academy
in Marana, Ariz. with top honors. He was employed with the Navajo
Tribal Forestry and currently with the BIA Navajo Hot Shots as
a crew leader. Yazzie enjoyed running, reading, being around friends,
caring for livestock, and being a wildlife firefighter.
Survivors include his wife Pearl Yazzie; sons, Davin Yazzie of
Farmington, Jason Quintana and Mathew Quintana, both of Albuquerque;
daughters, Davina Yazzie of Farmington and Taylor Mary Yazzie
of Fort Defiance; brothers, Melvin Yazzie of Gallup and Ricky
James of Fairbanks, Alaska; sister, Marion Yazzie of Chambers.
Yazzie was preceded in death by his parents, David Yazzie, Sr.,
and Mary Lou Yazzie; grandfather, Cabby Yazzie.
Pallbearers will be Melvin Yazzie, Ricky James, Davin Yazzie,
Jerome Brown, and members of the Navajo Hot Shots.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Klagetoh
Chapter House following services.
Silver Creek is in charge of arrangements.
Mary Turner
GRANTS Services for Mary L. Turner, 64,
will be announced at a later date.
Turner died May 4, in Grants. She was born February 12, 1943 in
Lordsburg.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Orvin Dale
TWIN LAKES Services for Orvin Elias Dale,
infant, will be announced at a later date.
Dale died May 5 in Twin Lakes. He was born January 30, 2007, in
Gallup into the Bitter Water Clan for the Water Flows Together
Clan.
A family meeting will be at 6 p.m. today, at the Twin Lakes Chapter
House.
