Orvin Dale

TWIN LAKES — Funeral services for Orvin Elias Dale, infant, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at Rollie Mortuary. Rev. Mary Lou Nelson will officiate.

Dale died May 5 in Twin Lakes. He was born January 30, 2007 in Gallup.

Dale loved to smile and coo at the ceiling fan while he was in his bouncer. He was a calm baby. Dale loved to be wrapped in his favorite yellow giraffe blanket. He enjoyed being held, eating, and taking naps in his swing.

Survivors include his parents, Orville Dale and Lana Curley; brothers, Gabriel Gage Yazzie, Olan Ernest Dale, and Orlan Eathan Dale; sister, Marissa Shaye Yazzie; grandparents Annie Tsosie, Marie Dale, Ophelia Sam, Lawrence Sam, and Keith Curley.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cornelia Begay and Ernest Dale, Sr.

Pallbearers will be Delvin Dale, Arnold Dale, Lance Sam, and Gabriel Yazzie.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Twin Lakes Chapter House.

Vicente Martinez

PUEBLO, Colo. — Funeral services for Vicente Michael Joseph Martinez, 21, will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 11, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Father Alberto Avella will officiate.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, May 10, at Compassion Mortuary. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 10 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Vicente died May 2 in Pueblo. He was born February 24, 1986 in Fallbrook, Calif.

Survivors include his mother, Rebecca Martinez of Pueblo, Martinez; stepfather, Richard Rosales of Pueblo,; father, Tim Martinez of Riverside, Calif.; brother, Tim P. Martinez; sister, Genevieve Rosales of Pueblo; grandparents, Lucy Martinez of Grants, Connie Jarvis of Albuquerque, Jean Rosales and John Rosales of Pueblo, Bill Fenley of Grants.

Pallbearers will be Henry Martinez, Moises Martinez, Rudy Martinez, LeRoy Mascarenas, Patrick Martinez and Matt Sandoval.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Mary Turner

GRANTS — Funeral Mass for Mary L. Turner, 64, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Father Alberto Avella will officiate.

A rosary will be at 7 p.m. today, May 9, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church.

Turner died May 4 in Grants. She was born February 12, 1943 in Lordsburg.

Turner worked for the Homestake Uranium Mill.

Survivors include her daughters, Donna Chavez of Grants, Barbara Gallegos of Grants, Suzie Cano-Chavez of Grants, Christine Gallegos-Hendrix of Las Cruces, and Sandy Gallegos-Luna of Albuquerque; sister, Vera Marez of Washington; brothers, Herman Montoya, Freddie Montoya, and Eusebio Montoya, Jr. all of Oso Ridge, NM; eight grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Turner was preceded in death by her husband, John P. Turner; parents, Eusebio Montoya, Sr. and Tomasita Rael Montoya; brothers, Ray Montoya and Dino Montoya.

Pallbearers will be Steve Hendrix, Jessie Padilla, Anthony Vigil, Dillon Luna, Peter Marez, and Michael Montoya.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Wilson Tah

MANY FARMS — Funeral services for Wilson Edward Tah, 60, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Chinle. Father Blaine Grein will officiate. Burial will follow at the family plot in Many Farms by Mile Post 458.

Visitation will be one hour prior to services.

Tah went through 11th grade. He was employed by NECA as a heavy equipment operator. Tah was a member of the NARCA Rodeo from 1970 to 1977 in steer wrestling and team roping where he received various awards. He had a great sense of humor and loved to be around livestock, family, and children.

Survivors include his wife, Veronica Deswood-Tah; sons, Larren Tah, Carl Tah, Tyson Edward Tah; daughter, Le'sheena B. Tah; brothers, Andrew Tah of Flagstaff, Sammie Tah, Harry D. Begay, Jr., Gerald D. Begay of Many Farms, and Jonathan D. Begay of Round Rock; sisters, Emma Tah, Matilda D. Begay, and Virginia D. Begay of Many Farms; and eight grandchildren.

Tah was preceded in death by his parents, Agnes D. Begay and Edward Tah; grandparents, Jane and Casey Redhouse; sister Ellen Tah.

Pallbearers will be Tyson Edward Tah, Darryl Redhouse, Gerald D. Begay, Harry D. Begay, Jr., Donald Thomas, Jr., and Carl Redhouse.

The family will receive relative and friends 3.5 miles north of Conoco Station in Many Farms following services and there will be a family meeting today at 6 p.m.

Delphine Dennison

SMITH LAKE — Services for Delphine Dennison, 26, will be announced at a later date.

Dennison died April 28, in Las Vegas, Nev. She was born September 12, 1980 in Crownpoint.

Dennison is the daughter of David Dennison, Sr. of Canoncito and Louise Largo of Thoreau.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.


Velma Poe

GALLUP — Service for Velma Rose Poe, 76, will be announced at a later date.

Poe died May 7, in Gallup. She was born August 5, 1930 in Lordsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any cancer society of your choice.

Zella Gifford

BLUEWATER — Services for Zella Ann Gifford, 68, will be announced at a later date.

Gifford died May 8 in Bluewater. She was born January 2, 1939.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Philbert Etsitty

GALLUP — Services for Philbert "Pee Wee" F. Etsitty, 25, will be announced at a later date.

Etsitty died May 8 in Gallup. He was born December 18, 1981 in Gallup into the Mexican Clan for the Red Running into Water Clan.
