Philbert Etsitty
TSAYAHTOH Funeral services for Philbert
F. "Pee-Wee" Etsitty, 25, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday,
May 12 at Rollie Mortuary. Pastor Alvin Cayatineto will officiate.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
Etsitty died May 8 in Gallup. He was born December 18, 1981 in
Gallup into the Mexican Clan for the Red Running into the Water
Clan.
Etsitty graduated from Tohatchi High School and attended Salish
Kootenai College in Missoula, Mont. He worked in Casa Grande,
Ariz., as a construction worker, Blue Beacon, and Holiday Inn,
both in Gallup. He was active in basketball and cross country.
Etsitty enjoyed drawing and sketching. He was a Northern Traditonal
powwow dancer.
Survivors include his parents, Hubert and Ella Mae Etsitty; brother,
Christopher P. Etsitty; sisters, Charlene Etsitty, Michelle Etsitty,
Valene Etsitty, and Victoria Etsitty; grandparent, Irene Watson.
Etsitty was prededed in death by Floyd and Ashbah Etsitty and
John Kee Watson.
Pallbearers will be Bernie Etsitty, Harold Stevens, Lawrence King,
Perry Donovan Norton, and Travis long.
The family will receive friends and family at Tsayahtoh Chapter
House following services.

Franklin Shortey
KLAGETOH Funeral services for Franklin
Floyd Shortey, 43, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 12 at St.
Anne Catholic Church in Klagetoh. Father Flann O'Neil, OFM, will
officiate. Burial will be in Klagetoh Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Shortey died May 5 in Rapid City, SD. He was born in Ganado into
the Honey Comb Rock Clan for the Mexican Clan.
Shortey graduated from Ganado High School in 1982. He was a well
recognized artist, better known as "The Din Hide Painter
of the Northern Plains". Shortey enjoyed a lifestyle of ranching
and traveling throuthout the world.
Survivors include his son, Michael V. Shortey of Albuquerque;
brothers, Timothy V. Shortey of Klagetoh and David Shortey, Jr.
of Albuquerque; sisters, Debbie Nez of Scottsdale and Beverly
Shortey of Winslow.
Shortey was preceded in death by David F. Shortey and Francis
B. Tsosie.
Pallbearers will be Frank Tsinajinnie, Stanley Becenti, Jude Yazzie,
Dugan Polacca, Steven Becenti, and Stanley Ben.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Klagetoh
Chapter House.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

CHINLE Funeral services for Anthony Lewis
Yazzie, Sr., 39, will be at 9 a.m. today, May 11 at the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Chinle. Burial will follow
in Tselani, one mile SE of Many Farm Lake.
Yazzie, Sr. died May 5 in Phoenix. He was born December 26, 1967
in Ft. Defiance into the Towering House Clan for the Bitterwater
Clan.
Survivors include his wife Dena Yazzie, sons, Adrian Lewis Yazzie
and Anthony Lewis Yazzie, Jr.; daughters, Deanna Yazzie, Andrea
Yazzie, Amber M. Yazzie and Denise Yazzie; brothers, Stanley L.
Yazzie, Billy L. Yazzie, Roger L. Yazzie, and Nelson L. Yazzie;
sisters, Gloria Begay, Nancy Multine, Leta Lee, Salina Tsosie,
Angela Keyonnie, and Pauline L. Halwood.
Yazzie, Sr. was preceded in death by his parents, Mary L. Yazzie
and Billy L. Yazzie, Sr., and grandparents Nabah Brown and Dejollie
Claw.Pallbearers will be Billy L. Yazzie, Gilbert Begay, Adrian
L. Yazzie, Roger L. Yazzie, Gary Yazzie, and Stanley L. Yazzie.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Salina Tsosie's
residence, one mile south of Holiday Inn in Chinle.

Eldon Becenti
THOREAU Services for Eldon Pete Becenti,
57, will be announced at a later date.
Becenti died May 10 in Thoreau. He was born November 28, 1949
in Crownpoint.
A family gathering will be at 5:30 p.m. today, May 11, at Thoreau
Chapter House.
Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
