Roberta McLemore
FORT DEFIANCE Funeral services for Roberta
Keeka McLemore, 30, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 22, at the Presbyterian
Church in Fort Defiance. Pastor Roger Davis will officiate. Burial
will follow in Fort Defiance.
Visitation will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, May 21, at Tse Bonito
Mortuary.
McLemore died May 16 in Fort Defiance. She was born January 17,
1977 in Fort Defiance.
McLemore attended schools in Fort Defiance, North Dakota, Washington,
and Alaska. She attended college in Okla., and NAU in Flagstaff.
McLemore enjoyed fishing, cooking, camping, hunting, and traveling.
Survivors include her sons, Derrick, Andrew, Kulboye, and Kody;
daughters, Keeka and Kimmie; father, Glenn McLemore; brothers,
Milo McLemore of Albuquerque and Jonathan Henkleman of Washington;
sisters, Charla Lang of Sitka, Alaska; grandmother, Marian McLemore
of Window Rock.
McLemore was preceded in death by her mother, Lucy Hinz; grandparents,
Robert E. McLemore, Jane and John Hinz.
Pallbearers will be Ronald Etcitty, Jr., Justin Pioche, Milo McLemore,
Joseph Adair, Forest Collins, and Jason Etcitty.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the family home.
Tse Bonito is in charge of arrangements.
Hamp Vandever, Sr.
GRANTS Funeral services for Hamp Vandever,
59, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 21 at the Prewitt Assembly
of God Church. Pastor Ruth Droll will officiate. Burial will follow
at Grants Memorial Park.
Vandever, Sr. died May 16 in Grants. He was born January 17, 1948
in Haystack.
Survivors include his sons, Hamp Vandever, Jr. of Albuquerque,
Hank Vandever of Milan, Hyrum Halloway of Thoreau, Hampton Vandever
of Smith Lake; daughters, Judy Benally, Yvonne Vandever, Louann
Loretto, all of Milan, Vanna Vandever of Grants, Marlee Shepherd
of Pine Hill; brothers, Milton Vandever and Jerry Vandever of
Prewitt, Melvin Vandever of Mexican Springs, Terry Vandever, Stewart
Vandever, and Alex Vandever all of Grants, and Saracino of Haystack;
sisters, Verna Yazzie of Prewitt, Nancy Yazzie, LaVerna Yazzie,
Lillian Vandever, and Saracina Vandever all of Grants; 26 grandchildren,
and three great- grandchildren.
Vandever, Sr. was preceded in death by his sons, Ernie Wood and
Vernon Vandever; parents, Chee Vandever, Sr. and Nellie Delgarito;
brothers, Chee Vandever, Jr., Ivan Vandever, and Ceejay Vandever;
sister, Lorraine Vandever.
Pallbearers will be Scotty Platero, III, Joshua Davis, Zachary
Loretto, Hamp Vandever, III, Teejay Vandever, and Wendall Yazzie.
Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Elizabeth Albert
TWO WHITE ROCKS, Ariz. Funeral services
for Elizabeth Shorty Albert, 91, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May
21, at the Catholic Church in St. Michaels. Father Gilbert will
officiate. Burial will follow in Kinlichee, Ariz.
Albert died May 14, in Gallup. She was born in 1916 in Black Soil
into the Water Edge Clan for Big Water Clan.
Albert was homemaker, farmer, and rancher. She was active in the
community as traditional herbalist and a central figure for the
Water Edge People Clan in the Defiance Plateau area. Her hobbies
include rug-weaving, traditional storytelling, and teaching.
Survivors include her sons, Eugene Albert of Kinlichee, Andrew
Albert and Jonas Albert both of Cross Canyon, Ariz.; daughters,
Isabelle Mitchell of Navajo, Mae R. Wallace of Summit, Ariz.,
Betty Holmes of Ganado, and Elizabeth Yazzie of Window Rock.
Albert was preceded in death by her husband, Austin Albert, Sr.;
parents, Charlie Shorty and Annie S. Begay.
Pallbearers will be Terrill Albert, Austin Yazzie, Benjamin Yazzie,
Jr., Jason Yazzie, Albert Wallace, and Craig Wallace.
A reception will be in Two White Rocks, five miles north of Kinlichee,
Ariz. on Black Soil Road following services.
Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
Mildred Tsosie
ALBUQUERQUE Funeral services for Mildred
Yazzie Tsosie, 42, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 21 at Cope Memorial
Chapel. Pastor Herbert Francisco will officiate. Burial will follow
in Gallup City Cemetery.
Tsosie died May 16 in Albuquerque. She was born November 13, 1964
in Blackrock into the Blacksheep People Clan for the Mexican People
Clan.
Survivors include her mother, Emma Tsosie of Chichiltah; brothers,
Robert Wood, George Tsosie, both of Albuquerque, and Harrison
Tsosie of Chichiltah.
Tsosie was preceded in death by her father, Frank Tsosie; brother,
Harry Tsosie.
Pallbearers will be Robert Wood, Jimmy Francisco, Jerome Lee,
Harrison Tsosie, Steve Scarton, and Kenneth Yazzie.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Oakview Bible
Church in Vanderwagen following services.
Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
