Renzo Fowler

GALLUP — Services for Renzo Fowler, 13, will be at 10 a.m., Monday, May 28 at Rehoboth. Pastor Mike Kleeberger will officiate. Burial will follow in Rehoboth Christian Reformed Cemetery.

Fowler was born Feb. 14, 1994 into the Towering House People Clan for the Red House People Clan.

Fowler was in the 7th grade in Rehoboth Christian Middle School. He had a Perfect Attendance Award and Basketball Leadership Award. His hobbies were playing chess, board games, horseback riding, cooking, and helping his father with construction projects.

Survivors include his parents Lisa Fowler and Emmanuel Smiley, both of Gallup; brother Jonas Smiley of Gallup; sisters Ronda Fowler, Liza Fowler, Alta Fowler, all of Gallup; grandparents Donald and Nora Jones and John and Rose Fowler.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Rehoboth Christian School after services.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Charles Corwin

GRANTS — Services for Charles "Chuck" D. Corwin, 80, will be at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 29 at the Central Baptist Church in Grants with full military honors by the VFW Lodge 3221 at Grants Memorial Park. Pastor Lonnie Jordan will officiate.

Corwin died May 22 in Los Angeles. He was born march 28, 1927 in Waynesburg, Penn.

Corwin was a retired uranium miner and a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. He belonged to the Grants Masonic Temple as a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the Central Baptist Church in Grants.

Survivors include his daughters Nancy Waters of Albuquerque, Jackye Scyrkels of Grants, and Connie Smith of Winto, Calif.; brother Robert "Bob" Corwin of Lilliwaup, Wash.; sisters, Mary Jane Logan of Waynesburg, Penn. and Wilma Henderson of Pittsburgh, Penn.; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Corwin is preceded in death by his wife Betty Ruth Clanton Corwin; daughter, Margaret Ruth Corwin; parents, Charles C. Corwin and Margaret McClelland Corwin.

Pallbearers will be Carl Smith, James Scyrkels, Stephen Scyrkels, Larry Killough, Anthony Ortiz, and Wayne Spurgeon.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.


Uriahas Ortega

FLAGSTAFF, Aria., — Services for Uriahas David Ortega, infant, will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, May 29 at Cope Memorial Chapel in Gallup. Matthew A. Ortega and Allen Begay will officiate. Cremation will take place at a later date.

Ortega died May 22 in Gallup. He was born May 21 in Gallup.

Survivors include his parents David Ortega and Joan Yazzie, both of Flagstaff; brothers Ryan Harker, Leon Harker; sister Samantha Harker; grandparents Ben and Rosie Yazzie, both of Gallup, Tony Ortega of Phoenix, Tina Ortega of Holbrook, Ariz.

Cope Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.


Rosalie Stewart

GRANTS — Private services for Rosalie Stewart, 67, will be at a later date.

Stewart died May 23 in Grants. She was born August 20, 1939 in Thatcher, Ariz.

Stewart worked as a waitress at Petro for many years.

Survivors include her husband, Lee Stewart of Grants; daughters, Darla Anders of Casa Grande, Ariz. and Davetta Jones of Whitesboro, Texas; stepson, Gary Stewart of Grants; brothers, Danny Battraw of Casa Grande, Larry Battraw of Mesa, Ariz., and Eddie Battraw of Mesa; sisters, Carol Kickle of Mesa and Tamy Battraw of Safford, Ariz.; and six grandchildren.

Stewart was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Lawrence; parents, Charles Edgar Battraw and Ila Allred Battraw; brother, George Battraw.

Compassion Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
