Juan Maestas

MILAN — Funeral Mass for Juan Maestas, 75, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. Very Rev. Alberto Avella will officiate. Burial will be 3 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 at the Santa Fe National Cemetery. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 at Compassion Mortuary.

Maestas died Oct. 28, 2007 in Albuquerque. He was born Jan. 5, 1932 in Llano.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Marines serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the uranium mines in Grants for several years and worked for Wal-Mart.

Survivors include wife, Maria Adonelia of Milan; daughter, Consuelo Maestas of Grants; brother, Lee Maestas of Grants; sister, Mae Roybal of Las Cruces; one grandchild.

Maestas was preceded in death by his parents Juan D. and Corina “Trujillo” Maestas; brothers, Emerson Maestas, Paul G. Maestas; sister-in-law, Emily Fuller; brother-in-law, Jose N. Rael, Jr.

Pallbearers will be Joseph Rael, Roger Rael, Emerson Maestas, Carlos Quintana, Charles Maestas, Paul Simon Maestas.


Nina Danham

COOLIDGE — Services for Nina G. Denham (Andreasen) will be announced at a later date. Her ashes will be spread over the ocean in Los Angeles as she requested.

Denham died Oct. 20, 2007 in Albuquerque. She was born March 19, 1932 in Los Angeles.

Denham graduated from Gallup High School in May of 1950 as Salutatorian of her class. She was a retired accountant/bookkeeper who worked in the retail industry for many years. She was a pianist, and loved classical music. She enjoyed composinfg her own arrangements of popular songs and music, singing while playing. She was an animal lover and a homemaker for many years.

Survivors include son, Jeff Leahy of Farmington; daughters, Melanie Leahy of Farmington, Linda Leahy of Rio Rancho; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Denham was preceded in death by sons, Vernon, Kelly; mother, Virginia; sister, LaNita.


Allen Cohoe Sr.

PINE HILL — Graveside services for Allen Kee Larry Cohoe Sr., 66, will be 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 2 at the Unit 5- family plot in Pine Hill. Bishop, Anthony Beaver will officiate. Burial will follow. Visitation will be at Cope Memorial 1-5 p.m, today, Nov. 1.

Cohoe died Oct. 29, 2007 in Gallup. He was born July 2, 1941 in Pine Hill into the Sleep Rock People Clan for the Meadow People Clan.

Survivors include his sons, Allen Kee Larry Cohoe, Jr. of Auberry, Calif., Charlie Jose Cohoe of Pine Hill; brothers, Francis Cohoe, Jimmy Jake, both of Pine Hill; sister, Mary K. Skeet of Pine Hill; two grandchildren.

Coho was preceded in death by his mother, Nora Natan; father, Charlie Coho; brothers, Willie K. Jake, Ben K. Jake; daughter, Bernadine Coho.

Pallbearers will be Harrison Skeet, Harold Martine, Kelso Skeet, Kendrick Skeet, Tennison Pino, Haskie Natan.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
