Shawn Begay

IYANBITO — Funeral services for Shawn Tyson Begay, 23, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at the Cope Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Gallup City Cemetery, Gallup.

Begay died Oct. 30, 2007 in Phoenix. He was born Dec. 27, 1983 in Gallup into the Sagebrush Hill People Clan for The Tangle People Clan.

Begay graduated from Carbon High School in Price, Utah. He received his associates degree in welding from UNM-Gallup. He enjoyed playing basketball, drawing, spending time with family and golfing.

Survivors include mother, Bertha Begay of Iyanbito; brothers, Raynelle Chavez of Crownpoint, Brian Tyson Begay of Albuquerque; sister, Vanessa Martin of Gamerco.

Begay was preceded in death by father, Emerson Begaye; grandparents, Kieth and Juanita Grey, Freddie Y. Begaye and Frances Billy; brother, Tyrone Tsosie; uncles, Edison Grey and Wilson Grey.

Pallbearers will be Shayne Chavez, Brandon Yazzie, Roland Yazzie, Ernest King, Brian T. Begay, Jacob Harrison, Lance Ortiz.

The family will receive relatives and friends at Iyanbito Chapter House following burial.

Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.


Pauline Tahe

LITTLEWATER — Funeral services for Pauline A. Tahe, 30, will be 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 8 at Desert View Funeral Home Chapel, Shiprock. Interment will follow at the family cemetery in Sanostee. Visitation will be 5 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7 at Desert View Funeral Home.

Tahe died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2007 in Littlewater. She was born April 27, 1977 in Shiprock.


Jonathan Holgate

TUBA CITY — Memorial service for Jonathan Duane Holgate, 24, will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 10 at Tuba City Chapter House in Tuba City.

Holgate died Oct. 6, 2007. He was born Feb. 11,1983 in Tuba City.

Holgate attended Tuba City High School 9th,& 10th (1997-1999), Richfield High School-Utah 11th (1999-2000), Tuba City High School and he graduated in 2001. He moved to Scottsdale and started employment with the Mariott Hotel chain. He came home to Tuba City Arizona to attend Diné College, Tsaile College Campus, and graduated in 2007 with a degree in Business Administration and Hotel/Resturaunt Management. He loved running,exercising, walking, going to school and learning new things. He also liked being on myspace and texting on the phone, dancing or clubbing, shopping and dressing up.

Survivors include mother, Christine Holgate; grandparents, Jimmy & Lillie Holgate; brothers, William Sr., DeShawn; sisters, Crystal, Maureena, Stephanie, Arianna, Shawntay, Alexis.


Lula Begaye

BLOOMFIELD — Funeral services for Lula M. Begaye, 50, will be 10 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 8, 2007 at the Christian Reformed Church at Toadlena, N.M. Pastor James Belone will officiate. Burial will be at the Community Cemetery at Toadlena.

Begaye died Nov. 4, 2007 in Farmington. She was born Feb. 23, 1957 in Shiprock.

Survivors include husband, Edison Johnson Sr. of Two Grey Hills, NM; sons, Shalbert Curley of Two Grey Hills, Edison Johnson Jr. of Thoreau; mother, Betty Jumbo of Toadlena; brother, Lester J. Begaye of Tocito, NM; sister, Louise Belone of Toadlena.

Begaye was preceded in death by her father, Ernest Nakai Tsosie.

Pallbearers will be Shalbert Curley, Edison Johnson Jr., Jonathan Belone, Jeremiah Belone, Dean Johnson, Duane Billy.

A reception will be at the Toadlena/Two Grey Hills Chapter House, following the graveside services.


John Nasi

GALLUP — Services for John Harold Nasi, 67, will be announced at a later date.

Nasi died Nov. 5, 2007 in Gallup. He was born Oct. 26, 1940 in Juneau, Alaska.

He was a Periodontist in Gallup.
