Andrea Egger

GALLUP — A Mass of Christian Burial for Andrea Annette Egger, 39, will be at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Danville, Ill. Father Greg Nelson will officiate.

Egger died Monday, Nov. 26, 2007 in Gallup. She was born Dec. 7, 1967 in Elgin, Ill.

She was the youngest of eight children and was raised in Palatine, Illinois. There she attended St. Thomas of Villanova Elementary School, Palatine High School, and University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois, majoring in Journalism. She interned at Danville’s Commercial News during her undergraduate years. After graduating from U of I, she relocated to Roswell, N.M., and worked as a reporter. She moved to Gallup, N.M., and worked as a reporter for the Gallup Independent. She wrote Grave Accusations, which was published in 2001, and two other novels- as yet unpublished-within the true crime genre. She then became a teacher in 2004. She taught at Wingate High School, and began studies for her Masters of Arts in Teaching at Western New Mexico University, and she obtained her degree there in May of 2007. She loved her cats and enjoyed making jewelry.

Survivors include parents, George W. and M. Marjorie (Boehm) Egger of Danville; sisters, Lynne M. Terry of Sonora, Calif., Marlene J. Egger of Salt Lake City, Utah, Leigh A. Egger of Silvis, Ill., Adriene J. Egger of Danville, Ardyce M. Clements of San Antonio, Texas; brothers, George L. Egger II of Washington, Ill., Paul R. Egger of Lenexa, Kan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul’s Catholic Church.

David Nelson

LITTLETON, Colo. — Memorial service for David William Nelson, 24, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 at St. Isabel Mission, Lukachukai, Ariz. Viewing will be 9 a.m., one hour prior to services.

Nelson died Nov. 27, 2007 in Littleton, Colo. He was born Oct.16, 1983 in Fort Defiance, Ariz.

Nelson graduated from Round Valley High School in Springerville, Ariz. in 2002, he was a varsity soccer player and earned his Eagle Scout award. He went on to attend the Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colo., where he was active in the Mines chapter of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), and in his senior year was elected President of the chapter. Nelson was an avid video gamer, music lover, and was well known for his skills in basketball, racquetball, and skiing.

Survivors include parents, Michael Nelson and Sally D. Nelson; sisters, Rachel Nelson, Miriam Nelson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to AISES.
