Joseph Nañez
GALLUP Services for Joseph Luciano Nanez, 31, will be
10:30 a.m. Oct. 3 at the St. Francis Church in Gallup. Visitation
and a rosary will be recited at Cope Memorial.
Nanez died Sept. 26, 2007 in Gallup. He was born Jan. 14, 1976
in Gallup.
Nanez graduated in 1995 from Gallup High School and served in
the U.S. Navy. He studied genetic engineering at UNM, played the
guitar, liked gaming, fishing, camping, and loved spending time
with his daughter. He also enjoyed quiet time and being around
his family.
Survivors include daughter, Susanna Bernadette Nanez of Lourdes;
parents, Susan Madey, Henry Madey, Adolpho M. Garduno; brothers,
Alfredo DuBoise, Antonio DuBoise, Robert Gallegos; sisters, Mercedes
Dalton, Bernadette DuBois Munoz, Nikie Rascon; grandparent, Trinidad
Garduno.
Nanez was preceded in death by grandparents, Prudencio and Sally
Gallegos.
Pallbearers will be Alfredo DuBoise, Phillip DuBoise, Francisco
Munoz, Johnny Trujillo, Lance Begay, Robert C. Cupp Jr.
The family will receive relatives and friends at 106 W. Jefferson.
Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
George Yazzie
SHEEP SPRINGS Funeral services for George K. Yazzie, 84,
will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the Penocostal Church in
Sheep Springs. Evangelist Eugene Cody will officiate. Burial will
be in Community Cemetery, Sheep Springs, with full military honors.
Yazzie died Sept. 27, 2007 in Gallup. He was born Sept. 8, 1923
in Sheep Springs into the Folded Arms People Clan for the Red
Bottom People Clan.
Yazzie was employed for an auto salvage, Neca, Rec. Yard, and
the railroad. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was an avid outdoorsman.
Survivors include sons, Ernest Yazzie of Shiprock, Wilfred Yazzie,
Edison Yazzie both of Sheep Springs; daughters, Carolyn Chicharello,
Rita Begay both of Sheep Springs; brother, Leo Sherman of Sheep
Springs; sister, Suzie Dilyon of Tucson; 15 grandchildren; five
great-grandchildren.
Yazzie was preceded in death by parentss, Jim and Priscilla Yazzie;
wife, Emma Yazzie; brothers, Harrison Yazzie, James Wayne Yazzie;
sisters, Violet Begay, Daisy Sherman, Shirley Coleman, Minnie
Yazzie; sons, Ernie Yazzie, Peterson Yazzie, Benson Yazzie; daughter,
Katheryn Joe.
Pallbearers will be Wilfred G. Yazzie Sr., Eric Yazzie, Edison
Yazzie, Ernie Joe, Hank Yazzie, Dereck Yazzie.
Cope Memorial is in charge of arrangements.
Winifred Jackson
GALLUP Services for Winifred Jackson, 83, will be at 10
a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 at the St. Annes Mission, Klagetoh.
Burial will be in Wide Ruins. Viewing will be before services
from 9-10 a.m.
She was born Sept. 27, 1924 in Tanner Springs, Ariz. into the
Sleeping Rock People Clan.
She was a homemaker most of her life. Hobbies were playing cards
and visiting family.
Survivors include daughter, Merletha Jackson; brother, Arthur
Chester; sister, Grace Shirley; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
Jackson was preceded in death by husband, Albert Jackson; children,
Paul Jackson, Luther Jackson, Edison Jackson, Leonard Jackson,
Ruby Jackson, Bruce Jackson.
Pallbearers will be family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Wide Ruins Chapter.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
